Testimonials |
"Sam, I'd like to thank you for the SAT preparation you gave me, I improved
vastly in all aspects of the SAT and learned valuable test taking strategies
that helped not only on the SAT I but also several SAT II tests and even AP
exams.
Coming into your program, I had always tested well on the math portion, but
often stumbled through the critical reading and writing sections without much
strategy or discipline. The test-taking strategies I learned in your class were
invaluable to my success in standardized testing, and gave me not only the
ability to score well but also confidence on test day.
Practice is a given in test preparation, but the guided practice I received at
College Planning Partnerships, followed by thorough analysis and explanation
helped get me over the hump of “good” scores into ones that really made my
college resume competitive. On test day, I was able to maintain a high level of
focus which kept me motivated from the beginning to the end, a focus I could not
have maintained with simply practice at home.
I got a 2350 overall, with a 750 in math and 800 in both the critical reading
and writing section, and used the same strategies to get a 750 on the literature
SAT II. As a result, I got into the honors programs at schools where I was just
hoping to get accepted. I feel I could not have done it without your help and
the help of the CCP staff, and highly recommend your class."
Thanks Again,
Michael McConville

"Dear Sam, I don't know if you remember me, but I took your class last February
at Westbrook high school. I took the SATs last March and got a 1850, 620 math
and writing, and 610 reading. I just took them again in October and reviewed
your binder for about a week before the test. My scores increased dramatically.
I got a 2030, 750 math, 650 writing, and 630 reading. As you can see I'm not the
best in the verbal and writing sections, but my math score skyrocketed. I just
wanted to thank you for all the help and tell you how great your teachings are."

"Dear Sam, Thank you for all of your efforts in helping my daughter to raise her
SAT scores. The total point increase of 590 was delightful. She was originally
reluctant to take on the additional commitment of SAT prep instruction. After
her first contact with your staff she requested additional learning up until the
day of her test. The individual classes that she received were perfect for her
busy schedule; however, in hindsight I feel she could have equally benefited
from the classroom setting prep classes that you offer.
We appreciate you assistance in relieving a great deal of pre-college anxiety."

"Dear Sam, I took the SAT's as a seventh and eighth grader with the older
version of the test as a part of Johns Hopkins gifted and talented program. My
results were good, but not where I wanted them to be. I did not really see
myself improving to the point where my scores would be equivalent or stronger to
those of my competition for the caliber schools that I wished to apply to. I had
taken other classes but the practice tests that I took revealed that my
improvement was minimal, if anything at all. As freshman, the test changed: out
with analogies, in with the writing section. That was when I knew it was time to
make a serious change.
Sam Rosensohn was my solution. The first session with Sam was a sort of
conference about, "me." We discussed what my schooling up to that point had been
like, what I did as extracurricular activities, what my scores were, where I
wished to go to school, and what scores I wanted to attain. He got an overview
of what I needed and wanted to work on by a series of small assessments and we
were off and running.
The very next class, we discussed the writing and editing portion of the test.
He talked about different aspects of the test but somehow it was not like a
lecture. It was almost as though I was just having a conversation with one of my
friends about sports. It took no effort to understand his strategies. He gave me
a portion of the test to again gauge my skill, which we afterwards thoroughly
dissected. Going through my mistakes, he added clues to help me through certain
problems and work out even the toughest puzzles. We worked on constructing and
planning the perfect essay, and continued lessons with small homework
assignments that were truly no problem to complete at home. Continuing with
other lessons we studied the intricacies of the verbal portion of the test and
built upon my vocabulary. Gary Burgard helped me with my math and on occasion,
grammar. Each of them was somehow able to make the test simple. I don't even
know how they did it. They just did. I ended up getting a 770 on the writing
portion of the test and a 2180 overall. "Yup, that'll do!" I could not recommend
a better program than what College Planning Partnerships offers. They know what
they are doing and truly care about their students."

"Dear Sam, We cannot say enough about the phenomenal service and guidance we've
received from Sam and all the folks at College Planning Partnerships! It is a
daunting thing to embark on this whole college journey. Sam worked with us every
step of the way, guided us and has been incredibly accommodating!! Together we
organized an SAT class with my daughter's friends that met at our house. It was
a small group who received both Sam's and Kathryn's incredible attention and
instruction. The students were made to feel comfortable, were encouraged and
motivated, and received honest and effective support and guidance. As our
daughter says, “Mr. Rosensohn would do anything in his power to help me. I know
he sincerely and genuinely cares about ME and my doing well – he doesn't seem to
be doing this for any other reason! I don't feel like he cares about his
business as much as he really wants to help me and see me do well and be happy!”
If that's not a testament to an effective and powerful educator, I don't know
what is!! -- Oh, and yes, Sam certainly DID help her more than I can express,
she DID do incredibly well on her SATs (over 2100), she HAS her college essay
well under control and she IS happy, even in the midst of her fall semester of
her senior year! Do yourself and your child a favor of a lifetime, pick up the
phone and call Sam today!"

"Dear Sam, After receiving my PSAT scores back, I began to get nervous about how
my SATs would turn out, since my scores were anything but a reflection upon who
I am as a student. Taking tests just is not my thing, and I knew I needed to
find a way around that in order to get into one of my top choices for college. I
chose to take the College Planning Partnerships' course, and it was the best
decision, and best money spent in a long time. For the duration of this course,
I learned more than I could imagine; I learned everything I needed to be
completely ready to take on the SAT.
What most people do not realize, is that that SAT is just one big mind game. It
is full of tricks and patterns, but there is a way around it. For both verbal
and math, I learned loads of ways the test tries to trick you that I would never
have picked up on if it were not for this course. I became so good at the SATs
that I went into the test room with the attitude that I was going to completely
dominate that test… and I did.
The teachers are truly amazing. They know the SAT inside and out. They are
always willing to help out and create that individual attention that makes it a
very intimate class experience. You set your own goals for your SATs and the
teachers aids to help you reach your target, which means that it is very
individualized, and personal, unlike many other courses that you might take.
Overall, this course is worth every single ounce of your time, and every single
penny you spend. I pushed my scores from the dumps all the way into the 700's.
It helped me understand not only how to complete certain problems, but also, how
to comprehend the test as a whole; how to beat the system. Not only did I go
into the SAT confident, and do well, but I also have improved my overall test
taking skills that have helped tremendously in school. This course is absolutely
wonderful; I am so thankful for this fantastic experience!"

"Dear Sam, Just wanted to let you know that starting to work with you and your
company to help Patrick get the best test scores he can and get into the best
college for his future aspirations is one of the things I'm most thankful for
this year!
As I mentioned on the phone, I'm very pleased he received scores in the 99th
percentile for Writing and 84th percentile for Math in his first PSAT attempt!
Both Ken and I are very pleased with this “go round” and it really did good
things for Patrick's self-confidence. I know that the brief time spent with you
and Kathryn made the difference, because he is not a “natural test taker”. It
would be great if he could get onto the National Merit Scholarship Roll in his
junior year!
I look forward to staying in touch and working with you over the next couple
years to help Patrick do his best to conquer these tests & the whole getting
into the right college routine. It was a bit of a “hard sell” to get him started
on this path, but he's actually enjoyed working with you both and it's a “no
brainer” now for him now to do more; thank you so much for winning him over!
Happy, healthy holidays to you and yours and all best wishes for 2007!"

"Dear Sam,
I am glad I took your SAT course because it helped me boost my confidence about
the test. I had been taking practice tests on my own before I took your course
and my score stayed consistently around 2100. I felt like there was nothing I
could do to improve my scores and I had enough practice. Then I found out about
College Planning Partnerships and your SAT course. I learned some refreshing new
strategies to tackle the dreaded critical reading passages and the somewhat
tricky grammar section. The strategies were far different from those in the
books (Kaplan, Princeton Review) I bought and worked much better for me. I ended
up getting a 2200 overall for my first time. I didn't regret my decision to take
the course and enjoyed learning how to beat the SAT."
Thanks for everything. Sincerely,

"Dear Sam, Getting SAT scores back is one of the most nerve-wracking experiences
high schoolers must go through, but fortunately for me it was a celebration.
Thanks to this SAT prep class I took with College Planning Partnerships, my
score went from a 197 on the PSAT to a 2240 the first time I took the SAT. I am
so relieved to not only be done with SAT's, but to have solid scores that will
help me in applying to colleges. It may have been a lot of hours of prep, but it
was definitely worth it. All the tips and practice from the class really helped;
the hard work paid off in the end. In addition to showing up to each class and
doing as much of the homework as possible (I only managed to complete about
half), be sure to review grammar and read an SAT vocab book. I carried my “SAT
Vocab for Dummies” book everywhere over February break, and that helped me A
LOT. Take the practice tests in class seriously, but don't get discouraged if
you haven't improved. You'll find that it's much easier to focus on the actual
test day. I am so thankful for this class and highly recommend it to anyone who
wants to get SAT's over with fast, and get a good score the first time around."

"Dear Sam, I came into the doors of College Planning Partnerships late on the
first day. Let's just say my best friend and I weren't so great at waking up
early on a Sunday; but since that day I knew every minute spent preparing for
the SAT would be worth it, and it was.
I was personally hoping to raise my math scores from the results I had gotten on
the PSAT and I did so with an increase of 60 points. What really amazed me was
the improvement I saw on the writing section. I had been somewhat content with
the scores I had gotten on the PSAT and many colleges had told me they were
still unsure if they would consider the writing section scores for admission.
But once I started reviewing the tips that Sam had provided for mastering the
writing questions, I knew I could drastically improve my scores. Sam spelled out
every type of question that the SAT favored on this portion of the test and
after reviewing those tips every week I felt more confident about that portion
of the test than any other.
When I took an in-class version of the writing section I scored an 800 and was
blown away. The confidence I took away that day and the reassurance I felt that
I really could get a perfect score on this section is worth more than I can say.
Because of that confidence I felt unstoppable when I took the SAT and Sam's tips
applied to every question on the writing section. I scored an 800 on the writing
section of the actual SAT and I am sure that anyone looking to improve on this
portion of the test will be able to accomplish their goal with Sam's help.
I can't think of any program that could've suited me better or been more
worthwhile. Whenever I hear someone worried about the SAT, I tell them to go to
Sam because he can truly work wonders."
Thank you for all of your help!

"Hi Sam, I wanted to again thank you for all of your help preparing Mia for the
ACT. When she first met with you and took an initial prep test we were concerned
about her reading score. With your help she increased her score dramatically.
I also appreciate the fact that you guided her toward only concentrating on the
ACT and not taking the SAT at all. She was concerned about this initially but I
think that only focusing on one type of test again helped her score much better.
After Mia received her ACT composite score she asked me to call you and thank
you for saving her life. She completely believes that without your insight and
strategies she would not have done as well as she did."
We all thank you.

"Dear Sam, I can't believe it has been almost a year since Derek and I met you
at the Daniel Hand Summer College Seminar. Since that time, working with you at
College Planning Partnerships has been the best decision we have made to date!
Your SAT prep class was right on target and your advice to "test early" was
invaluable. Derek was able to take your SAT prep class during the summer
following his sophomore year and take the SAT I test in October of his junior
year. He had terrific first-round scores, which allowed him to judiciously plan
his college admission strategy. Armed with his SAT scores, he was able to
accurately target colleges at the appropriate level and to plan for his future
SAT testing in the spring. The stress of "not knowing" where he stood was
removed from his very busy junior year...and from our household! We can't thank
you enough for providing us with this very valuable advice and we tell all of
our fellow college bound friends, "take Sam's advice to prep and test early"!
We plan to take your corollary advice to start the application process early and
Derek will be working with you this summer on his application essays. This too
will remove the stress on Derek to 'beat the clock' next fall and on me as the
anxious parent!
Thanks you again for providing us with your college planning expertise and
guiding through this often tumultuous time. You have truly been our college
planning partner."
Sincerely,

"Dear Sam,
Navigating through the college admission process is time consuming and
stressful. Perhaps the most stressful part for parents and students alike are
the college entrance exams. One of the best decisions we made was deciding to
work with Sam and College Planning Partnerships to help prepare for the exams.
What we soon realized is that Sam provides way more than just test preparation.
In addition to providing top quality personalized tutoring in terms of test
taking strategy, technique and content, Sam took a personal interest in my
daughter Cat's success that was beyond all expectations. College Planning
Partnerships was like a support team that was helpful in all aspects of Cat's
college admissions process. As a parent, Sam was the expert I could turn to for
sage advice on all the arcane details of college admissions. In terms of test
preparation, College Planning Partnerships helped to build Cat's confidence and
ultimately gave her the skills needed to attain test scores that we initially
felt were not possible - - a 370 point increase on the three SAT sections over
her first attempt! These were the scores Cat needed to ensure entry to her
number one college choice. When Cat finally received the scores that were higher
than she had ever hoped for, the first thing she wanted to do was to go down to
tell Sam in person, she knew Sam would be as excited as she was!"
Thanks again!

"Dear Sam, After taking the March SATs I was panicking greatly. I was not
satisfied with my scores and was worried that my test anxiety would only sky
rocket. I then found out about this amazing SAT course, and Sam Rosensohn. After
only one class my confidence was heightening. Consequently, when I took the test
in June, there was a great increase in my scores and I was thrilled.
This course teaches you how to beat 'the game' and achieve great success, and it
is all the little tricks that make it such a unique, and incredibly helpful
course. I would truly recommend it to anyone!"
Thank you so much for all your help!

"Dear Sam, At College Planning Partnerships I was able to learn how to take the
SAT. Before coming to this program, I was very anxious about my SATs. Just being
“smart” does not necessarily mean that one tests well. I have had several
friends who ace their math and English courses at school, with
less-than-phenomenal scores on the SAT. The SAT is a tricky test—the material
covered isn't that complicated, but the little tricks and the sheer length of
the test are exhausting.
Upon entering classes, I was able to learn how the test works. Before this
class, I thought that SAT prep consisted of taking dozens of practice tests.
This method was tiring and the results were not satisfying in comparison to the
hours of effort I put into the tests. SAT prep is time consuming. By taking this
class, I was able to limit my test-prep to two three hour classes a week. I felt
like these classes were highly efficient. Instead of taking test after test, we
did sections of tests in class and analyzed our answers and the test's tricks. I
was able to reach my goals for the SAT.
I have always struggled with the writing section of the SAT. In my high school,
the formal teaching of grammar is not stressed. When I started studying for the
SAT, I made the mistake of trying to learn several years' worth of formal
grammar. I had no idea what a “dangling participle” was. Grammar takes years to
master, and I expected to take my SAT in a few months. During these SAT classes,
I learned consistent guidelines and patterns of the SAT verbal test. I didn't
have to learn new and fancy names for concepts I already knew. I learned to
apply my previous knowledge with my newly learned test taking skills to ace the
SAT.
One of my biggest challenges in taking the SAT was confidence. Initially I did
not feel like I would be able to score well on this test. When I panic during a
test, I tend not to be able to think as clearly, and I usually score lower as a
result. These classes were an effective way to build confidence quickly. You and
Gary focused on my strengths and showed me how to score well using what I
already knew."
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Emily Gao

"Dear Sam, Our son Ricky received wonderful guidance, instruction and
encouragement from Sam Rosensohn and his staff at College Planning Partnerships.
Not only did they help him prepare for the SATs and realize a 300 point
improvement in his test scores but they also provided invaluable assistance and
advice regarding his college essays and applications. College Planning
Partnerships helped Ricky dig deep into himself to write essays that truly
showed colleges who he is. Most importantly, College Planning Partnerships truly
lives up to its name. It is more than a simple business arrangement but a true
partnership between your family and theirs. Their dedication, intensity and
depth to helping students achieve higher education are the strongest and most
sincere we have ever seen. We cannot thank Sam and his team enough for their

"Dear Sam,
As I drove down I-95 this week I was reminded of our many trips down to Clinton
two years ago for Dan's SAT prep course. Dan began the classes worried about his
initial test scores and prepared to work hard. He was immediately provided a
well-designed and developed program of study. Your expectations for daily effort
were high and your enthusiasm was infectious. With a clear plan Dan soon
developed a focused study routine. He was rewarded with faster test times and
improved accuracy in the practice exams. When we returned to Loomis that fall,
his improved study skills were evident – his grades were stronger and his SAT
scores competitive. He was thrilled when he was accepted to Villanova! His
grades there have been outstanding; he has a leadership position in the student
government and now has his eyes on several possibilities for further study. As a
member of the honors program he is amazed at the opportunities open to him.
So as we head into sophomore year, I thought it was high time that I let you
know how much we continue to appreciate your instrumental role in Dan's college
process!"

"Dear Sam, We want to thank you for providing such a high quality program in SAT
prep for our son Matthew. We knew Matt had the ability to do well on the SAT,
however, we were a bit worried about the discipline and quality of the test prep
needed to maximize his scores in a world of competing priorities (sports, school
work, extra curricular activities, etc.) Your course, through its classroom
sessions and homework assignments, not only ensured Matt's focus but also
provided valuable insight into content, structure, and strategies. The results
speak for themselves. His scores on the SAT I and SAT II have moved him a step
closer to gaining admittance into the ultra competitive colleges on his list. We
look forward to working with you over the next couple of years as Matt continues
on his college admission journey."

math. He scored 790 on that test. |

"Dear Sam, Working with Mr. Rosensohn has been the best decision of my
college process. As my parents brought home book after book of SAT
preparation material, and I was given countless flashcards to learn, being
well prepared for the SATs seemed like such a daunting and nearly impossible
task. Mr. Rosensohn, however, had everything figured out, all I had to do
was go to class. His tips for writing a perfect essay paid off, and his
techniques for the reading and writing sections of the test were invaluable.
Writing several essays and going over a plethora of practice questions gave
me the practice I needed, and with Mr. Rosensohn's ideas for cracking the
test, I was able to become very confident and ultimately do well on test
day. Ok, so maybe I had to do a little more than just show up to class, but
I can attribute a great deal of my success to Mr. Rosensohn's guidance.
I hope you can use that on the site, I'm honored that you would ask (and my
scores were 730 math, 760 writing, 730 reading)."

"Dear Parents and Students, Please allow me to submit a letter of endorsement
for College Planning Partnerships. Sam Rosensohn and his team of experienced

"Dear Sam,
As the daunting process of college admissions initially faced our son and the
rest of our family, we decided to take a proactive approach to the journey.
During Ryan's freshman year, we attended the college night offered by his
guidance department at Daniel Hand High School and we were encouraged by your
presentation on how to prepare for the standardized testing aspect of
admissions. Two of the things you mentioned seemed to be most practical. First,
you indicated that the standardized tests have almost a language of their own
and that by learning the language, and/or its logic, significant testing
improvements could be achieved. Then, you stated that your firm, College
Planning Partnerships, would customize the program it offered based on the tests
that the student was preparing for and the level that the student was at as an
individual. This seemed to be a much better approach than the “one size fits
all” training offered by the Princeton Review or the Kaplan Review type courses.
As a result, we had Ryan work with you in preparation for his PSAT test during
the summer between his sophomore and junior years. As he was preparing for the
test, he worked on Math and English skills that applied to both the PSAT and the
SAT. In October of his junior year he took the PSAT and came out of the test
feeling so confident that we had him take his SAT's the next month. Due to a
quirk in the timing for receiving test results, we were thrilled to find out
that Ryan had scored in the 99th percentile (with a combined score of 2300) for
the SAT exam, before finding out how he did on the PSAT. When his PSAT score was
given to him at school, he found he was also in the 99th percentile on that test
and might even qualify for National Merit recognition.
Overall, we have been extremely pleased with the support and guidance you and
your co-workers have provided. We believe that this approach has been
instrumental in maximizing Ryan's standardized testing performance and relieving
him of the stress associated with taking and retaking these tests, in order to
achieve his best score."

"Dear Parents, Who would ever believe six junior high school students would not
only willingly, but enthusiastically go to weekly grammar/vocabulary sessions at
College Planning Solutions. Of course, they each wanted to drive, but all were
eager to go.
This is my strongest endorsement. Students want to be there, and hence they
learn. Sam Rosensohn, and Gary Burgard give their hearts and their years of
experience in business and the field of education to nourishing, preparing, and
achieving individual goals for their students. "Results with heart" is how I
would best describe College Planning Solutions.
As a parent, I am extremely pleased to have Sam and Gary as adult mentors for my
daughter, and as a friend for myself and husband - they also bonded with us
through great follow-up and open channels of communication."

"Dear Sam, Entering my junior year meant one thing for me: SATs. My college,
career, and future altogether could hinge on one single test. I knew I had to
look for help; luckily for me, I looked in the right direction. At College
Planning Partnerships they give each and every student they work with personal
and specified guidance to help them earn the scores they want. They are willing
to take whatever steps necessary to procuring the desired outcome. Furthermore,
they open you up to the test.
For most students, the only glimpse of what SATs are like comes from the PSAT;
however, by the end of a course with College Planning Partnerships, you'll know
the test like the back of your hand. Their advice and assistance helped me to
take the test with more confidence and assurance in what to expect.
College Planning Partnerships doesn't stop there though. Their friendly aid

application letters, financial aid; you name it.
With College Planning Partnerships you pay a small fee and get immeasurable

"Dear Sam, Our daughter, Alex Thompson, recently completed Mr. Rosensohn's SAT
preparation course. Alex has been a strong student for a long time, but Mr.
Rosensohn's care and focus gave her a new level of confidence to go after the
tests. College Planning Partnership is well named. Mr. Rosensohn has created a
true partnership for young people to put their best forward in the testing
environment. The courses help students fill out areas of weakness, and give them
comfort with what to expect.
When Alex came out of the tests, I asked her how they went. She actually said,
“I thought they were kind of fun.” (And her scores were great.)
We highly recommend Mr. Rosensohn's College Planning Partnership course for
students planning to take the SAT."
Sincerely,
Will & Megan Thompson

Alex a junior got the following scores: 730 critical reading, 700 math, 730
writing. This was the first time that Alex took the test. She took the January

"Dear Sam, Once again, thanks for your assistance both with Ashely and Matt.
Following a difficult and tumultuous freshman year at college resulting in
academic probation, acceptance to another university was nearly impossible and
was met with rejection notices.
After meeting with Sam Rosensohn and gaining her self-esteem and her positive
attitude things quickly turned around for Ashley. Sam's knowledge and guidance
led her to be accepted to the fall semester of 2005 by a school that six weeks
earlier had rejected her. She is now happy at school in Boston with a GPA of
4.0.
Needless to say we are indebted to Sam's expertise for our son, Matt, as well."

"Dear Sam, College Planning Partnerships came to our rescue when, at the very
last minute, a national SAT prep company cancelled the course my daughter had
registered for. The course offered by CPP was flexible, responsive and highly
personalized to my daughter's strengths and weaknesses. The instructors were so
engaging that my daughter looked forward to each class. The encouragement and
motivation offered by this terrific staff resulted in excellent scores on all
three portions of the SAT. Sam Rosensohn provides insightful, constructive and
reassuring advice and information for students and their families involved in
the complex pursuit of college admission."

"Dear Sam,
I have known Sam for many years, and observed him starting his College Planning
Partnership. My son, Josh, was one of his first students. What makes Sam
particularly special is that he really enjoys helping students do better in
school. He honestly gets excited about their progress. Josh needed help in many
different areas in his educational program, and Sam was there to help him in
many ways. It was through Sam that Josh was successful in his education—I could
not have done it alone.
Recently, my younger son, Jon, wanted to go to Williams School (he applied no
where else). I thought that maybe Sam could help Jon with the SSAT test, since
his standardized tests scores were always just above average. Well, in just the
few months prior to the test, Sam worked intensively with Jon. Jon gained the
knowledge and the confidence to take the SSAT, and achieve scores that allowed
him to be accepted to Williams.
Both my sons loved to go to see Sam. The only downside to Sam is that it costs
money. At first, I questioned whether or not it was worth the money. But after
seeing the improvement in both of my sons, and their successes, I think that
it's worth it 100%. I would recommend Sam to any student who wants to improve
their chances of getting into a better school."

"Dear Sam,
College Planning Partnership's SAT class was essential to my success on the
SAT's and then eventually in being accepted to ten top universities. I also went
on to receive scholarships to all ten of those schools and a scholarship
totaling $74,000 to George Mason University. I know that this would have not
been possible without the help of College Planning Partnerships. While I have
always done well in school, I needed help with the SAT. My PSAT scores were
decent, but I saw a 240 point improvement from my PSAT score to my SAT score
after taking the course at College Planning Partnerships. Sam and his fellow
tutors are extremely knowledgeable about the college admissions process. The
process can get very complicated and confusing, especially for a family going
through it for the first time. Sam was extremely helpful in enlightening me.
After taking the SAT and receiving my scores, I was overjoyed. I received a 700
on the reading section, 690 on the math and 660 on the writing portion, for a
total of 2050. I could see that I had improved drastically from when I began the
course. I took the SAT course because I am the type of student who needed a
structured system for studying the SAT. I probably would have not sat down and
done it myself. This is why the class was so beneficial to me, because it forced
me to study for the SAT and practice nightly. I learned valuable techniques
which helped me a lot on test day. I will be forever grateful to College
Planning Partnerships for assisting me both on the SAT's and in the college
admissions process. I would have been lost without them!"

"Dear Sam,
I entered Mr. Rosensohn's SAT prep class not knowing what to expect. I soon
realized that it was more than your average prep course. This class provided me
with a comprehensive review of all kinds of problems I would encounter on the
SAT. The unique style of teaching ensured uniform improvement for students of
all ability levels. The strategies provided allowed me to solve problem and
answer questions that seemed impossible to me beforehand. I know for sure that
Mr. Rosensohn and his team have tremendously raised my score, and I would
recommend his class to any student who would like to do well on the SAT."

"Dear Sam,
This is the first endorsement I have ever written: I imagine you are trying to
decide where you should send your child for SAT/ACT tutoring. A quick summary of
my experience may help make the decision easy. My oldest son worked with three
other tutors prior to working with Sam Rosensohn. Neither he nor I felt that
those tutors were really providing any SAT guidance, but instead were simply
providing more general academic assistance. When a friend of mine recommended
Sam, we switched and quickly found that Sam has an actual method for helping
kids achieve their SAT/ACT potential. Sam's method is based on his detailed
research and understanding of how the SAT test works. As a result of Sam's
program, my son could tell after the first session that he would make a lot of
progress using Sam's methods. There were three key results from my son working
with Sam. First, he achieved a belief that he could improve and therefore he was
willing to do the assignments that Sam gave him. Second, he gained confidence in
himself, which is critical for success in anything one does. Third, his scores
increased beyond what others told him was achievable.
Sam also has a unique ability to connect with kids. This skill is the one in
particular that sets him miles a part from others. And he also does a great job
keeping me informed, which I appreciate since it can be tough spending a lot of
money on SAT tutoring and not having any idea if progress is being made or not.
I am confident that you and your child will be pleased with him!!!"
Sincerely,
Good luck,

"Dear Sam,
College Planning Partnerships played a key role in crossing the bridge from high
school to college. As a first timer in the college prep scene the information
and choices were daunting. One call with Sam Rosensohn provided a road map for
our family to follow during the months to come. Sam's passion and commitment to
motivate students, to teach them how to realize their potential, to understand
the building blocks toward college applications and to let loose and dream a
little, is remarkable. Through working with Sam and his staff, Eric improved in
all aspects of the SAT scores wrote a wonderful and insightful essay and saw the
'college light'.
Eric was accepted to all the schools that he applied to and decided to attend
Muhlenberg College in Pennsylvania.
If you're approaching the 'bridge' to College you need to cross with the College
Planning Partnership team by you side."

"Dear Sam,
We registered our son Jack for last January's class with College Planning
Partnerships just days in advance. Mr. Rosensohn was easily reached and proved
to be enormously helpful and reassuring, offering a comprehensive description of
his services along with other tips and suggestions that were also useful.
Unsure of what to expect during class time, Jack found the information he
received from all the instructors to be far more helpful and interesting than he
had anticipated. He especially appreciated learning, in his words, “How to
dissect the reading portion.”"
The Roth family thanks everyone at CPP. We are very pleased and proud of the

"Dear Sam,
Hello, my name is Cynthia Brunelle and I am 16 years old, currently a junior at
Daniel Hand High School in Madison. I signed up for Sam's class at the end of my
summer before junior year because a good friend of mine was already taking his
classes. At that point, I was worried that I had waited too long to take the
classes, or that I was taking the classes too early.
However, when I drove out to the classroom and met Sam, I knew that I was making
the right decision. Not only did he listen to all my fears, but he sat and
talked with my mother and I about my previous PSAT scores, my coming college
experience, what SAT prep can do for my scores, and what I should be doing - as
a junior, and as a soon-to-be-college student. That first day, we talked with
Mr. Rosensohn for over an hour - on his break time.
I decided to take the course, and quickly re-learned a lot of things that I had
forgotten, pertaining to grammar or simple math. And the best part of the whole
affair; the class worked. I received my Junior Year PSAT Scores last week. My
"Math" score jumped from a 520 to a 670. My "Critical Reading" went from a
630
to a 730. And my "Writing Skills" went all the way from a 670 to a 780. I am
thrilled with my scores. My reading and writing scores are both high enough to
get into Yale; my math score is high enough to give me a comfortable shot at
Wesleyan.
I am now ready and signed up to take the real SAT at the end of January. I am
nervous, but will look back over the notebooks filled with helpful advice that
Sam gave me, as well as the SAT practice books. As for now, I just want to thank
Sam for his energetic, enthusiastic, (wait until you see him teach) and
wonderfully constructed class."

"Dear Sam,
I want to tell you how much our son enjoyed working with you and the fine tutors
you have provided to help him prepare for both the SAT and ACT tests. The tutors
that worked with him on science and math, and your expertise with verbal and
reading skills really helped him improve his test scores. Your training clearly
helped him approach the tests with more efficiency, confidence, and
understanding of what to look for and how to apply specific strategies. Your
insight into his personal processing style and the areas where he most needed
assistance truly helped him break through some barriers to effective test
taking. You provided a comfortable and professional atmosphere for students, as
well as fine resources, and there our son has always had a positive attitude
about attending sessions at College Planning Partnerships. We appreciate all
that you have done to benefit him as he prepares for college and would highly
recommend your services to other families. Thank you for your great work."

"Dear Sam,
Mr. Rosensohn was a fantastic SAT Tutor. Anyone who is looking to improve his
SAT scores dramatically should definitely seek his help. I brought my total SAT
score up 110 points in just three meetings with Sam. He helped me "hone" in on
my areas of weakness so I could improve the most where it was necessary. It is
very important to anticipate which sections are going to give you the most
difficulty on the test. Mr. Rosensohn gave me tools to use during the test to
derive the correct answer without getting overwhelmed or frustrated. I was able
to stay focused for the entire time. Not only that, but I was also able to knock
the easy questions off without doubt in order to pursue the tougher questions
with more time and confidence. I have heard so many people talk about hours and
hours of private tutoring, and still not receive sufficient results. Sam will
give you the most know-how about the SAT's with the least amount of overall time
spent."

"Dear Sam,
"Study, Study, Study!" If it had not been for Sam Rosensohn's advice and
encouragement, I would have bombed the SATS. He has done so much for me. I never
expected that I would actually get into my first choice college! I took the SATS
for the first time in June of 2005. I had previously taken Sam's prep class and
felt comfortable with the information I had learned. I did well on the test but
not as well as I had wanted. I opted to get tutored over the summer and retake
the SATS in October. Sam and Gary(one of his math tutors) helped me all summer
long to prepare for the SATS and with college essays, financial aid applications
and college applications. I wrote my first college essay in 20 minutes! My mom
has also used Sam for assistance with college problems. I am very thankful to
have met Sam, especially for all of the help he has given me. Thanks again for
all of your help. I'll keep in touch!!!"

"Dear Sam,
I walked into College Planning Partnerships SAT Prep with a 1930 on my SATs. I
needed help on the critical reading section and the writing section. In my mind,
2000 was the magic number, and that is exactly what I told Sam. In around six
classes I gained the knowledge that got me a 2100. I raised my SAT score 170
points in two sections of the test: 70 points in the critical reading and 100
points in the writing. I also walked away with an essay for the common
application that Sam, my father, and, more importantly, my college counselor was
happy with.
This course worked for me because Sam taught me not only the raw material on the
test, but also the strategies I must know in order to earn a higher score. In
class we worked on the strategies: how to approach each question and what the
graders are actually looking for in an essay. For homework I practiced these
strategies and learned new vocabulary words. This may sound similar to a
Princeton Review course, but Sam charges less money. How much less? Sam charges
$65 per hour, while a PR course charges $200 per hour; Sam charges $135 per hour
less than PR does.
I got my results at a tremendous speed. In about the equivalent time of two days
of school, I gained the knowledge that awarded me 170 more points on my SAT and
had a final draft of a college essay in my hand. Sam knows the tricks that
College Board puts in the test, and he taught me how to avoid them and how to
steer myself in the right direction. To top it off, my parents saved over $1500
by sending me to College Planning Partnerships SAT Prep as opposed to a
Princeton Review course. I recommend this course to any student who wishes to
improve his or her SAT score quickly and painlessly. Sam is a very easy man to
work and get along with, but he still posses an unmatched knowledge of the test.
A higher SAT score opens doors for better colleges, and College Planning
Partnerships SAT Prep gives students the keys to these doors. Finally, to
parents: If you enjoy seeing your child succeed and saving a large chunk of
money at the same time, sending your child to this course is the best choice you
can make."

"Dear Sam,
College Planning Partnerships is far more than an outstanding SAT prep service.
Sam provided effective individualized support to both our children throughout
the entire college planning process ranging from high school course selection to
the application process itself. Perhaps the greatest impact Sam provides has
been to broaden and deepen our children's horizon while instilling in them a
stronger level of self expectation. Our children are far better equipped college
applicants as a result. I strongly endorse CPP and recommend taking advantage of
the benefits we received as early as possible.
Please know we are eternally grateful for your advice, guidance, and support
throughout this process. Chris would not be where he is without you."

"Dear Sam,
As parent of a son who scored in the 95th percentile on the SSAT under the
guidance of the College Planning Partnerships, I cannot thank Sam and his staff
enough for their expertise and dedication. In a very professional but sensitive
manner they first quickly evaluated the strengths and weaknesses of our son
Neelesh with respect to the Test, then devised an individual program to address
them. They were very flexible and generous with their time, thorough in their
approach, and very mission oriented. Mr. Rosensohn knows what the students and
the parents want and need when they come to him for help. Our son felt very
comfortable and yet challenged as he progressed under the guidance of Mr.
Rosensohn.
We plan to have our other two sons prepare for their tests with the College
Planning Partnerships."

"Dear Sam,
Our daughter had her heart set on going to Williams for high school.
Fortunately, we heard about College Planning Partnerships and decided to ask Sam
and Bill for their help with our daughter taking the SSAT. She took the first
test before she attended any sessions with Sam or Bill. After their expert
guidance and techniques for test taking, she raised her score by over 30
percentage points. They both provided practical help as well as emotional
support throughout the process. Sam continually kept contact with our family to
see how our daughter was doing or to offer a helpful thought he may have
forgotten to mention. He went out of his way to gather information for the
application process. He continues to be a cheerleader for our daughter and now
is helping to improve her writing skills. We cannot thank Sam and Bill enough
for the guidance and education they have provided. We plan on using their
services again when it is time for our daughter to take the SAT for college. By
the way, our daughter was accepted into The Williams School and looking forward
to a successful high school experience."

"Dear Sam,
My son Brad took Sam's class in the Spring of 2004 hoping to improve on his SAT
scores. However, I feel that this program far exceeded those expectations. Not
only did it help him develop a strategy for taking the test, but also gave him
confidence that he could do well on it. Each class provided valuable practice
with the types of questions that often prove most troublesome, and practical
advice about what to do the night before and the morning of the test. Most
importantly, Sam takes a personal interest in each student and family , and is
always there with whatever advice and help he can give , even after the classes
are over. Brad is now enjoying his Freshman year at Kenyon College."

"Dear Sam,
After my son's first two months of his freshman year, he was quite unhappy at
Wheaton College. It was clear to me and him that he needed to make a change.
However, I was afraid that I was not up to launching my third college
application effort. As a parent, I was well aware of the role I had to play in
the admissions process. The fact that my son was in school in Rhode Island and I
was in New York City added another dimension to the effort.
Once I decided to seek professional assistant, I found Sam Rosensohn through a
parent resource service. At the time I was not completely sold on this approach
to the college application process, especially since I had not used it the last
two times. I also thought that it was pricey and was uncertain of the impact of
the process. On the other hand, I knew that I needed the assistance of an
objective and experienced professional.
It came to pass that the dedication, experience, patience, flexibility and
commitment exhibited by Mr. Rosensohn was exactly what my son needed. He was
located in Connecticut which was closer to my son's college. He made himself
available to my son at flexibility hours that were designed to accommodate my
son's academic and athletic schedule. In addition, he did not do the work for
Jonathan but instead he made him assume ownership for his work and I believe
that was a good experience because he was invested in his transfer effort. My
son transferred to Georgetown University as a sophomore and has it has made a
tremendous difference in his college life."

"Dear
Sam,
I just wanted to send you a word of thanks for your help in preparing my
daughter for the SATs. As you know, her initial test didn't go too well and her
scores were going to hurt her chances for admission to the colleges she hoped to
attend. So she decided to look into SAT prep courses. After reading your column
in the local paper and speaking to you on the phone, my daughter and I decided
to give your prep course a try. In the fall, my daughter took the SATs in
October and then, after some last minute tutoring from your team, she took them
again in November. Her persistence and your support and instruction enabled her
to raise her combined math and verbal score by approximately 150 points. That
should be enough to get her in to the schools of her choice. So, thank you and
please thank your tutors as well. Your professionalism and willingness to
accommodate our needs on short notice gave us a very positive result that should
open the door to a satisfying college career for my daughter."

"Dear Sam,
I have to admit, I was hesitant about the course at first. I had already taken
the test and scored a 1260, which I considered to be just fine. As is generally
the case, my parents were nagging me to take the test again, and, after a few
weeks of subtle arguments between the three of us, I agreed. My class schedule
at the time was pretty packed, so I wasn't thrilled about taking the course, but
after the first class I realized that I was definitely going to score better on
the SATs the next time around. All of the lessons that Mr. Rosensohn and I went
over had little tricks that I never would have noticed, but seemed so obvious
after they were pointed out to me. All of the subtleties that Mr. Rosensohn
helped me pick up on really added up to give me a much better score. Once I was
accepted to Hamilton College, my first choice school, I was informed that the
average SAT score of the incoming freshman class was around 1330, my combined
score. I doubt I will ever know if I would have been accepted to Hamilton with a
1260, but I know that four years at a school like Hamilton, as well as all of
the opportunities that the school has made available to me, are well worth the
one hour per week that I spent preparing with Mr. Rosensohn."

"Dear Sam,
Sam's class, over the course of five weeks, gets you comfortable and prepared
for the SAT so you can go in on test day knowing what to expect and confident
that you can reach your goal score. Each week, a different part of the test is
dissected and you do practice problems and learn how to attack which problems
when. In addition to learning the test itself, test taking strategies are
examined carefully so you know how you'll tackle the test to get the results you
want on that test day. Each week questions are answered in class from homework,
and you do sample practice problems right from the Official College Board Book
that comes with the course. Each week there is homework so you can practice
specific kinds of verbal or math problems on your own, and then eventually you
put it all together to do a full released practice test just before the actual
Saturday you're scheduled for. It helped me work on the test efficiently, so I
had time to get to every problem, and I had a good idea of how to solve the
problems quicker and move through the test at a reasonable pace without making
too many careless errors. Vocab is a big part of the critical reading, and the
Hot Words for the SAT book, which comes along with a binder full of lessons and
strategies to try, is a great way to learn many words fast and in simple
clusters. I think I made the most improvement in the Critical Reading passages,
because Sam teaches how to read them, that the answers are all there, you just
have to read carefully paragraph by paragraph and find the support to pick the
right choice, and you'll do fine. I scored 650 math, 640 reading, and 630
writing my first time around. I am confident that this class, with all the
information, insight, and practice you get, will get you better prepared for the
test and raise your score."

"Dear Sam,
Our son Patrick attended Sam Rosensohn's SAT readiness class in Clinton. He
found the classes helpful, and we were impressed with the amount of material
that was offered. Practice tests were introduced via a controlled environment,
similar to the regimen followed on the actual test day, easing some of the
stress. Sam also helped Pat write a wonderful essay for his college
applications, editing it many times. The result was a short, attention-grabbing
essay that was so well written that it surprised us. With only minor
customization, it was suitable to be used for every college application that we
submitted.
Sam is committed to helping kids succeed. He provided counsel regarding career
selection, potential college matches, as well as the expected strategy for
increasing SAT scores. Although Pat's scores did not initially reflect his
potential, his third attempt reflected the effort that he had expended, as well
as the grades that he had received during four years of high school. Despite the
additional time commitment, prior to each test session, Sam counseled and
pre-tested our son to improve his readiness and confidence. The outcome was very
positive. Pat, having selected what is currently one of the most competitive
programs for admission, the Doctor of Pharmacy, has received acceptance letters
from all of the schools that have thus far responded to his applications. It is
such a huge relief and a wonderful feeling to know that our son is on the path
to a successful, independent future.
We recommend Sam's program to any high school student seeking college admission."

"Dear Sam,
He got in! Six schools, six acceptances for a grand slam. It's funny how the one
that they really want is the last to respond. We had already forwarded deposits
into Massachusetts School of Pharmacy for this fall.
I personally want to thank you for the ongoing efforts provided to us. Your
ability to help us create a Patrick story, along with pushing us to start the
process early certainly simplified everything while reducing lots of stress.
The package that we developed was hard for these schools to turn down. Needless
to say Patrick's hard work also prevailed.
This week the arrival of the mailman takes on a different meaning for me. He's
back- just delivering bills. He no longer carries the letter that would impact
my son's dreams. It's been a nice, special spring for me."

"Dear Sam,
Patrick will attend the Doctor of Pharmacy program at Northeastern, his first
choice. After his early action application to Northeastern was deferred we
created a full-scale strategy to win acceptance.
My senior son's grades were less than stellar so we were relying heavily on his
SAT scores to get him into the schools of his choice. His first scores were
respectable but his school counselor recommended SAT tutoring to pick his scores
up a bit and give him stronger positioning in the admission's pool. I asked him
for a recommendation and he told me the "only one" he would recommend was
College Planning Partnerships. When I called to schedule tutoring, Sam Rosensohn
immediately accommodated us and a series of private sessions began. Sam and
partner taught my son how to attack the SAT monster and gave him the skills and
strategies needed for the upcoming exam. The 80 points added to his math score
and the 40 points added to his verbal score were enough to put him in a very
comfortable zone and he did indeed gain acceptance into the college of his
choice. As a parent, I found Sam very caring and concerned for my child's
welfare. It was a pleasant experience.
Andrew, a student at the Hopkins School in New Haven, went from 570 to 650 on
the math, and from 650 to 690 on the verbal portion of the exam."

I got a 2350 overall, with a 750 in math and 800 in the critical reading and 800
on the writing section, and used the same strategies to get a 750 on the

I was just hoping to get accepted. I feel I could not have done it without your
help and the help of the College Planning Partnerships' staff, and highly
recommend your class.

Dear Sam, Thank you for all of your efforts in helping my daughter to raise her
SAT scores. The total point increase of 590 was delightful. She was originally

Sam Rosensohn was my solution. The first session with Sam was a sort of
conference about, "me." Gary Burgard helped me with my math and on occasion,
grammar. Each of them was somehow able to make the test simple. I don't even
know how they did it. They just did. I ended up getting a 770 on the writing
portion of the test and a 2180 overall. "Yup, that'll do!" I could not recommend
a better program than what College Planning Partnerships offers. They know what
they are doing and truly care about their students.

We cannot say enough about the phenomenal service and guidance we've received
from Sam and all the folks at College Planning Partnerships! Together we
organized an SAT class with my daughter's friends that met at our house. It was
a small group who received both Sam's and Kathryn's incredible attention and
instruction. Oh, and yes, Sam certainly DID help her more than I can express,
she DID do incredibly well on her SATs (over 2100), she HAS her college essay
well under control and she IS happy, even in the midst of her fall semester of
her senior year! Do yourself and your child a favor of a lifetime, pick up the
phone and call Sam today!

This course is absolutely
wonderful; I am so thankful for this fantastic experience!

Dear Sam, Just wanted to let you know that starting to work with you and your
company to help Patrick get the best test scores he can and get into the best
college for his future aspirations is one of the things I'm most thankful for
this year!
As I mentioned on the phone, I'm very pleased he received scores in the 99th
percentile for Writing and 84th percentile for Math in his first PSAT attempt!
Happy, healthy holidays to you and yours and all best wishes for 2007!
Sincerely,

Dear Sam, I am glad I took your SAT course because it helped me boost my
confidence about the test. I had been taking practice tests on my own before I
took your course and my score stayed consistently around 2100. I felt like there
was nothing I could do to improve my scores and I had enough practice. Then I
found out about College Planning Partnerships and your SAT course. I learned
some refreshing new strategies to tackle the dreaded critical reading passages
and the somewhat tricky grammar section. The strategies were far different from
those in the books (Kaplan, Princeton Review) I bought and worked much better
for me. I ended up getting a 2320; 780 on the math, 750 on the critical reading,
and 790 on the writing, and I enjoyed learning how to beat the SAT.
Thanks for everything.

Getting SAT scores back is one of the most nerve-wracking experiences high
schoolers must go through, but fortunately for me it was a celebration. Thanks
to this SAT prep class I took with College Planning Partnerships, my score went
from a 197 on the PSAT to a 2240 the first time I took the SAT. I am so thankful
for this class and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get SAT's over
with fast, and get a good score the first time around.
Sincerely,

Liia, a junior, took the SAT for the first time in March, and scored: Critical
Reading, 730; Math, 720; writing, 790. |
Sam spelled out every type of question that the SAT favored. Because of that
confidence I felt unstoppable when I took the SAT and Sam's tips applied to
every question on the writing section. I scored an 800 on the writing section of
the actual SAT and I am sure that anyone looking to improve on this portion of
the test will be able to accomplish their goal with Sam's help. I can't think of
any program that could've suited me better or been more worthwhile. Whenever I
hear someone worried about the SAT, I tell them to go to Sam because he can
truly work wonders.
Thank you for all of your help!
Sincerely,

Hi Sam, I wanted to again thank you for all of your help preparing Mia for the
ACT. When she first met with you and took an initial prep test we were concerned
about her reading score. With your help she increased her score dramatically. I
also appreciate the fact that you guided her toward only concentrating on the
ACT and not taking the SAT at all. She was concerned about this initially but I
think that only focusing on one type of test again helped her score much better.
After Mia received her ACT composite score she asked me to call you and thank
you for saving her life. She completely believes that without your insight and
strategies she would not have done as well as she did.
We all thank you.

Mia scored in the 99th percentile: English, 32; Math, 33; Reading, 31; Science,
35. Her composite score was 33. |
One of the best decisions we made was deciding to work with Sam and College
Planning Partnerships to help prepare for the exams. In addition to providing
top quality personalized tutoring in terms of test taking strategy, technique
and content, Sam took a personal interest in my daughter Cat's success that was
beyond all expectations. College Planning Partnerships was like a support team
that was helpful in all aspects of Cat's college admissions process. As a
parent, Sam was the expert I could turn to for sage advice on all the arcane
details of college admissions. In terms of test preparation, College Planning
Partnerships helped to build Cat's confidence and ultimately gave her the skills
needed to attain test scores that we initially felt were not possible - - a 370
point increase on the three SAT sections over her first attempt! When Cat
finally received the scores that were higher than she had ever hoped for, the
first thing she wanted to do was to go down to tell Sam in person, she knew Sam
would be as excited as she was!
Thanks again!
