Salvatore Falson

There is no other choice of SAT providers. Don’t fall into the trap of your local high school’s SAT prep class. That’s minor league compared to the training and service provided by College Planning Partnerships. Owner Sam Rosensohn and his team are fantastic instructors. They teach strategy, which is critical for the SAT. Our son was able to raise his score by 130 points thanks to College Planning Partnerships. His future looks very bright because of the SAT prep course. Make this investment…you can’t afford not to. Thanks again for all of your hard work with Salvatore - we are beyond proud of Salvatore.

Thomas Block

We are all so pleased with Thomas's scores. Thank you for working with him. Three weeks prior to the ACT, I reached out to Sam who graciously accommodated our last-minute request with 8 sessions in 2.5 weeks for our son, Thomas. Following the first two-hour session in English/Reading, Thomas said, "Mr. Sam is great; I really learned a lot." This is high praise coming from our reticent sixteen-year-old son! Thomas completed the homework without complaint and looked forward to his productive sessions with the entire team. He increased his ACT composite score 3 points from the PACT with every subscore increasing; most notably, a 6-point jump in his English score to a 35! We couldn't be happier and recommend CPP to anyone who wants individualized sessions that yield results.

Studying with Mr. Sam, Mr. Michael, and Mr. Zach before the ACT was a great experience. Other than taking the PACT, I didn't know any test-taking strategies. Not only did I learn new strategies but I also got a great review of the material on the test. The sessions were fast-paced and we didn't waste any time on what I already knew. I felt confident when I took the ACT and I know this helped with my results.

Rishabh Thatte

Thank you is too little a word for how grateful I am that I had the opportunity to work with Mr. Sam Rosensohn. As a senior in high school going through the college application process, college essays were the most daunting part. I am also not the best writer and that made the task of writing essays a lot more daunting. However, with the help of Mr. Sam Rosensohn, my college essays turned out to be the best essays I have ever written, and I believe the colleges I'm applying to will see their thoroughness and ingenuity. When the acceptance letters come flying in, they will be in part due to the essays I submitted.

Trey Adams

With the May 1st college decision date having come and gone, I wanted to reach out and thank you for ALL of your support throughout my application AND SAT preparation processes. I wound up with some wonderful options and would not have done so without your help. Saying thank you does not seem like enough, but thank you! Having narrowed my choices down to Providence College, Lafayette College, University of South Carolina School of Business and Syracuse University School of Business I had to make a very hard choice.

After a great deal of thought I had to make one of the hardest decisions in my first 18 years and chose the business school at Syracuse and am really excited about my choice. Again I would not have this option, or the others, without your support and just wanted to keep you updated.

Thank you again and I hope you are all doing well!

As an aside, I am not sure if you heard but my basketball team at Hand won the first state boys basketball championship in our school's history :). Lillian Powers

Dear Sam and the Whole College Planning Partnerships Family:

A big thank you. Over the past 4 years all three of my daughters have used Sam and his team to move their ACT scores from "ok" to "Excellent" and most recently to "Perfect".

Sam's team were all well qualified, empathetic to the pressures and schedules of high school students and changed strategies to address the particular quirks of each of my children. One daughter needed help with math, another with reading and the third with all of it - Sam didn't blink at the challenge and created a plan best suited to them. The sessions happened when planned and the communication overall was excellent. I would highly recommend Sam and his team.

Alizeh Kizilbash

Zac was amazing! He went through everything I didn’t understand; when I wasn’t certain on how to approach a certain type of question (in both the English and math sections), we went through all types of similar questions, just to make sure the content / method of finding the answer was solid. The way he explained different concepts in math, or showed me how to eliminate answer choices for the reading, really resonated. Zac alleviated my stress, making me comfortable with all aspects of taking the SAT, and I really appreciate all of his work. Kind regards,

Grace Carangelo

During my experience with Zac as my ACT tutor I felt completely comfortable being around him and learning. From the start he gave me great tips on how to deal with the science portion of the ACT and we took our time to figure out what process was best for me. I always felt a little more confident after our sessions, which made a difference. He did assign a lot of homework but would totally understand that it was worth it in the end. The homework was helpful and made me practice the skills we did during the session. Overall he is a great tutor and made my original score from an 18 to a 24, which was a major improvement. He was supportive and easy to talk too as well and never made me feel like i couldn’t achieve my best score.

Hi Zac, I had never been great on standardized testing, scoring pretty low on the PSATs I took at school and achieving a pretty disappointing first ACT score. But I had faith that I had it in me to get a great standardized test score, and after putting in the work in several wonderful lessons with Zac, Sam, and Chandler, I was able to achieve a dream score of 1520, with a 760 in Reading and Writing and a 760 in Math, which I never thought I would be capable of getting. My son’s goal was to get a 1200 or better on the SAT. After working with College Planning Partnerships twice a week in preparation in the weeks preceding the test, he got a score of 1270. The tutoring sessions prepared him for what to expect from the test and boosted his confidence. His goal is to play baseball at a respected college and his strong SAT scores will open up more recruiting possibilities for him. My daughter had also used College Planning Partnerships to prepare for the ACT and her score went from 29 to 33. That score on the ACT helped her to get into her dream school, Vanderbilt. We are so grateful for hearing about College Planning Partnerships. Language Arts has never been our son’s strong suit and his PSAT verbal score proved that. Our college counselor suggested working with College Planning Partnerships as a good way to raise our son’s score. We found them very easy to deal with and very easy to schedule a series of online meetings that would not be too daunting for our son. In a span of 4 weeks (twice a week), our son was given strategies to help determine the correct answer, practice tests where wrong answers were explained to him, and guidance on how to complete the test within the time frame allotted. We were shocked when we learned that his score went up 100 points after he took the SAT in August. Thank you Chandler Warren and College Planning Partnerships!!!

Josh Israel

We used College Planning Partnerships (CPP) for both of our boys, after hearing so many great things about them from many of our friends who had used them for their children, and have been nothing but pleased with the whole experience. We used them for our older son 3 years ago (whose total score increased by over 200 points from the PSAT), and then more recently for his younger brother (whose scores increased to get him in the top 1%). Their service and results continue to exceed our expectations. Both of their test scores ended up in their goal range to be highly competitive applicants for their "ideal" colleges. Plus, as an extra bonus, while no one wants to be spending what little spare time they have in their busy lives, my boys did not mind going to their sessions at all (with Sam and Zach), actually enjoyed the time they had working with them, and found the experience extremely helpful. Thank you so much for everything! We will continue to pass along the great advice that was given to us to our friends, that when it comes time for preparing for these standardized tests, CPP is definitely the place to go!

CPP has been consistently great to work with, from scheduling and class content to the final result. We are all very pleased!

Before CPP I didn't know where to start with the SAT, but Zac laid out the information in a way that helped me understand both the content and the test itself. The academic resources available at CPP were fantastic supports in studying for this test that I couldn't find anywhere else. I now feel much more confident in the college application process and in my own academic abilities.

Katrina Doherty

I wanted to pass along some great news. Katrina did extremely well on her SAT exam, in fact so well, it exceeded our expectations! To put this in perspective, last year's PSAT was 1210, this year's PSAT was 1270. Her goal for this test was 1350 and she scored 1470 on the SAT. She will take the SAT again in June with the hopes of increasing her Reading/Writing score by 30. Her new goal for a super score is 1500. Your class provided her the confidence she needed to succeed and it was clearly well worth the investment! We are extremely pleased with the results. Thank you for all your help!

This is a VERY long overdue "thank you" to Sam, Chandler and Michael for all of your help and guidance for Seamus in preparation for his ACT test in September...he rocked it!! We are so grateful to you all for working with him so patiently and so last minute!! You gave him such confidence and support! His composite score was a 32: 31 in English, 30 in Math, 33 in Reading and a 33 in Science. We are beyond thrilled!! Thank you, thank you!!! You guys are the best and we will be in touch, we have three more children coming up behind Seamus.

I can’t say enough about the informative instruction and confidence your team provided our daughter Alyssa, with for the ACT. The tools used, by you and everyone she worked with at CPP made such an enormous difference in her outcome. My name is Syed Zaidi and I am a former student of SAT Prep. I was tutored by you guys earlier this year to achieve my best SAT score. As a student I was really impressed at how high my SAT score grew with SAT Prep, and so I'm recommending you guys to my sister. I was hoping you could hopefully sign her up for the program as well! I have copied her on the email so you guys can communicate. Her name is Abeeha Zaidi and she is a junior in high school. Hopefully you can do wonders with her SAT score just like you did with mine!

We were referred to Sam and Michael at College Planning Partnership from a friend whose daughter had fantastic results working with them. Our daughter had previously taken the ACT test after working with a different tutor. She was looking to improve her scores on the Math and Science sections of the test. Timing was very limited but Sam and Michael accommodated my daughter’s schedule and she and Michael worked together over three sessions. My daughter’s Math score improved from 28 to 32 and her Science score improved from 28 to 33. We are extremely happy with the significant improvement on each section of the test. My daughter really connected with Michael and enjoyed working with him. We highly recommend College Planning Partnership!! Our only regret is that we wish were referred to Sam and Michael earlier.

My daughter learned everything she needed to be highly successful on the SAT. Online lessons made scheduling easy and it was natural for my daughter to work that way. I would very much recommend CPP to any parent or student looking for a great SAT prep experience. Emily said working with Sam and Zac made studying for the SATs stress-free and easy to follow through on the program. I was happy to see her relaxed preparing for the SATs during the stressful, busy time of junior year. Sam and Zac were a calming presence while making my daughter completely confident and prepared to take the test. We loved CCP and Sam and Zac for the one-on-one tutoring and having my daughter be the single focus of the study sessions. She was able to learn deeper, have greater retention, and be fully prepared in a shorter amount of time than in a class. Sam and Zac's dedication to their students and knowledge of the tests come in part from CPP being their business and not hiring temporary tutors throughout the year like other prep companies do.

Ben Rosbach

We can’t say enough about the test prep our son received this Spring from CPP. After taking the SAT for the first time in March and being disappointed with his results, he tried the “one-on-one” approach offered by CPP (as opposed to the group prep he did prior to the first go) and this made all the difference. He raised his score by 120 points! Mike and Chandler were wonderful tutors. The prep course requires diligence and hard work. In addition to the sessions, there is homework assigned that is important to complete to make it all work. Our son really treated this as another HS class for the the brief 6 weeks he spent prepping. He is satisfied with his score and he feels good about applying to the colleges on his list. Thank YOU, CPP! We will most definitely use their services for our daughter (Freshman) and younger son (Middle School) when the time comes. It is worth every penny.

As a foreign student, whose mother tongue is not English, studying for the SAT was a big challenge. I am glad that I could work with College Planning Partnerships for the SAT, as they really helped me to achieve the results I wanted. I think without them, I could never had done it. From the beginning, the tutors were really nice and respectful. Their commitment and availability were the key to my success. I really enjoyed working with Mike and Zac for mathematics, Sarah for chemistry, and obviously Sam who is the one that helped me the most in this process. I appreciate your services.

It’s been two full years now. I’ve worked with CPP since the 25th March (2017) till the end of May 2019. I am happy to say that these are one of the best tutors and SAT preparation help you will find. The staff puts in a genuine amount of effort to help you learn. They are always energetic and eager to work with students. I have worked with Sam and his team of tutors since I was in 11th grade, and now I’ve completed my first year of college and still occasionally receive help from them. Many of my recent college assignments came back graded to a near perfect score after working with CPP. Since I am on the topic of college, I fear I wouldn’t have had strong essays to submit to college admissions if I hadn’t received tremendous amounts of help from CPP. I live across the world in a non-native English-speaking country, there is a time difference of at least 10 to 12 hours (keeping Daylight savings in mind) which can be inconvenient for help from institutions based in the US, but CPP found time slots that worked for both of us, which I consider very humbling that they were happy to work with someone across the world.

We wanted to reach out and personally say thank you!!! After working with College Planning Partnerships, our son was able to improve his SAT score significantly. This new score has opened up many new doors for our son in his college search and we really feel like the guidance and tutelage that he received from you all was instrumental in his improvement. We had looked at several other SAT prep services, but after an informational phone call with Sam and then being able to see a demo of how your online tutoring sessions worked….we decided to move forward and we are glad we did!! The personal attention that you both provided as well as the structured, but non-stressful environment was perfect for our son. As busy as our kids are these days, the ability to connect with you guys for tutoring sessions online was key in our son’s ability to complete a prep program. Many others programs that we looked at were similar in cost, but were group classes at inconvenient times and in locations that would have required hours of drive-time. Our son was able to sit down at his computer in the comfort of his own home and have 1 on 1 tutoring sessions with you guys. What’s better than that???? We are about 90 minutes from your location, but with the online option….it wouldn’t have mattered if we were 1000 miles away. We will be telling everyone we know about your amazing program!!

Jack Michaels

I want to thank College Planning Partnerships for teaching my children the necessary skills to perform well on the ACT and SAT. My eldest daughter is currently an admitted student at Columbia University (she took the ACT), and my son, a high school junior, just scored in the 99th percentile on the SAT English, with a perfect score on the math. This sampling speaks volumes about their ability to educate. I consistently found CPP to be incredibly professional, as well as extremely accommodating toward my children’s schedule. They went out of their way to make the kid’s available time work for them. Both of my children found the professionals at CPP to be engaging, amiable, compassionate and intelligent, not to mention fun and humorous, which made for very enjoyable study sessions. CPP would recommend homework to prepare for the following sessions, and composed detailed notes after each learning session for my children to review, which was regularly received within the day. I also received a copy to review their progress. The bulk of our time was spent with Sam, Chandler, and Zachary, though I am confident that all of the professionals at CPP do a superb job. Thank you for your excellent work and for giving my children the confidence to embrace these tests!

The SAT prep course offered here provided everything I needed to do my best on the test. Zac and Chandler offered advice, strategy, and tips and helped me gain lots of experience with the test questions. On top of that, they help me to redevelop forgotten skills. The course was only a few hours a week with a reasonable amount of homework, but it was more than enough to familiarize yourself with the content of the test. The whole experience felt very personalized, and I advise anyone struggling to bring up their scores to apply for this prep class.

Sarah Jane’s goal was to go up 3 points in math and she did!!! And that was after just 2 math sessions with you guys! Thank you! My daughter was referred to CPP just four days before the ACT. Talk about effective and efficient...I talked with Sam on Tuesday, he fit my daughter in for online math tutorials on Wednesday and Thursday, and she took the ACT on Saturday. Her goal was to increase her math score by three points and that is exactly what she did. She is now receiving tutoring from CPP 2-3 times a week and we can hardly wait to see the effect it will have on her SAT score in a couple of weeks.

Ray Rigat Jr.

I can’t begin to tell you how impressed my wife and I are with College Planning Partnership. Our son spent the summer working with CPP in preparation for the SAT—and as they say, the proof is in the pudding! He improved over 200 points! Reach schools are now safety schools. More importantly, our son has gained confidence and a renewed vigor with his studies. Our son thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with his tutors, who have become mentors. CPP made SAT preparation an interesting, exciting challenge for him. The CPP instructors are friendly and attentive to the needs of the student. Tutoring and SAT preparation was specifically tailored to our son’s needs, and was not the typical mass produced package offered by other companies. It was also reasonably priced. If college is important for your student, get them registered with CPP. They have our highest possible recommendation.

Jesse Freeman

Our experience with College Planning Partnerships was unilaterally FANTASTIC! After one-on-one SAT prep with a local tutor our daughter showed no improvement from a 1320 PSAT score. She was referred to CPP and they helped her make the decision to switch to the ACT. After evaluating her skills Sam recommended 9 sessions of tutoring. She loved the idea of being home and using Skype and I believe her distraction level was actually diminished. CPP's format is just an extremely efficient use of time. Sam and Mike were very encouraging and knew how to pull from her what was needed. First ACT -- 33!!!!! One and done. Couldn't be happier...maybe just a bit regretful we didn't use them from day one!

Charlotte and Molly B

A belated thanks, Sam, for the SAT prep. that your company provided to our twin daughters, Charlotte & Molly. Together, they did the prep. with Chandler and Michael in January and February of 2017, in their junior year – and then took the March 2017 SAT (with essay) and the Connecticut April SAT. They did great. I’m thinking about all of this now because we’re getting ready for them to head off to college. Molly is going to Middlebury College, and Charlotte is off to Wesleyan University. Their SAT lessons were well organized, and the flexible scheduling was a great help. The lessons really gave them a good understanding of the right approach to SAT test-taking. In particular, Molly had lower PSAT scores than expected given her academic rank, but after your company’s tutoring her SAT scores were right where she wanted them to be for applying to the top-tier liberal arts colleges on her list. We are certainly glad we used CPP.

Dear Sam, We cannot thank you enough for all of your help with our 3 boys. Our two older sons brought their SAT scores up by 100-150 points several years ago, and have been extremely successful in college. They are both graduating from college this spring with honors and both employed at their top choice firms. Nick, our third son, recently took his ACT for the second time and with your help he has reached his goal and raised his score by 3 points. His confidence has been boosted and he may take it a third time to see how much higher he can get it. Not only have you, Mike and Zac helped all three of them improve their test taking strategies, study skills and overall review, but more importantly you made them feel more confident and less stressed out! With your help their college application process has been a very positive experience and we cannot thank you enough.

Natty Pinkes

I do want to take a minute to thank you for all the help given to Natty over the past couple of years. As you know he was able to raise his ACT composite score from initial informal testing to final official test by 9 points! His scores gave him a wide choice of colleges to apply to and he was admitted to six of the seven that he decided to apply to. He was given merit scholarships totaling $20,000-90,000 at five of those schools. He decided to go to Northeastern University for several reasons. The health sciences program is designed for students who hope to attend medical school, research opportunities are available to freshmen, the coop program provides work experiences at some of the best medical institutions in the world and he was invited into a dual degree program which will allow him to obtain a masters degree in public health as well as his bachelor's in science. He is very excited. In addition, the online tutoring that he continued to do with Mike throughout his junior and senior years was tremendously helpful. I expect he will continue to work with Mike in college. Anyway, thank you all so very much. You will be hearing from me next school year to schedule test prep for my youngest son, Ethan, who will be a sophomore in the fall. I expect he will start test prep with you next summer. Thanks again,

Dear Zac and Mike, I just wanted to thank you both for all of your help with our 7th grader. We came to you last summer a bit frustrated since she was bored in her math class and was losing her love of math and school in general You did such a wonderful job assessing her and pinpointing what she needed to be challenged and stimulated. The summer math enrichment program you set up for her and her fellow classmates was brilliant. They truly enjoyed coming to class with you and were so invested in the program. You renewed their love of math as well as providing them a solid pre-algebra foundation. We look forward to working with you on an algebra program this summer and keep them on an advanced track as they prepare for high school. Thank you again, Katie

Cliff worked with Sam and team during the summer after sophomore year to prepare for an early October SAT which he'd take prior to the PSAT. CPP worked diligently with our son and we appreciate their methods and professionalism. After getting his first SAT scores back, he decided to work with CPP further with the goal being to break 1,400. Cliff's December score came back with a score of 1,410. College Planning Partnerships was undoubtedly worth the cost and time. As a test-taker who had already received a strong score after my first attempt at the SAT, I was unsure that tutoring would provide any significant benefit. Fortunately, at my mother's insistence, I scheduled several appointments with Sam. After taking into consideration my first score, he was able to tailor my sessions specifically to my areas of weakness. I was taught strategies and techniques that applied directly to me. Therefore, at no point did any of the tutoring and feedback feel redundant or unnecessary. Ultimately, the preparation and practice testing through College Planning Partnerships greatly improved my tactical approach and confidence toward the Verbal and Writings sections of the SAT. The results were clear: a 100 point overall increase on my second test toward my super-score. I would certainly recommend College Planning Partnerships to all, even those who have already earned a strong score.

Fantastic news today, Daniel’s SAT Subject Test result in Chemistry is 800. Thank you again for your very kind and effective help to Daniel in that urgent situation. My son Daniel wanted to reach a high SAT Subject Test result in Chemistry for his application to a highly competitive university. In June he reached 710 without any tutor help. He made some tests from the SAT Subject Test preparatory books.Daniel had good grade in Chemistry at school and he felt that a score of 710 was not sufficient. He decided to take an other test in October to improve his result. He worked on several tests from the SAT preparatory books again and the results were fluctuating between 600 and 720. It was a Saturday night, a week before the exam when we decided to ask help from Sam. I knew I could count on him in case of problem, but in a short notice I was not sure. it was an extra urgency help request. Honestly I hardly dared to believe that anyone else could help my son to become more successful, but we tried. For my big happiness Sam was open for the help and understood the urgency as well. He organised a session with his son Trevor by Sunday. Trevor is a fantastic tutor in Chemistry, After working with Daniel for 3 sessions Trevor said that Daniel was ready for the test. And he was right, Daniel wrote his test with a great success, reaching 800. Thank you Trevor! You did a great job and what was also fantastic that you did it in such a short notice. Your flexibility was amazing! With a big smile of happiness,

I wanted to let you know that I've been accepted to Georgetown, UCLA, Wesleyan, Tufts, NYU, BU, and UConn Honors, and I could not have done it without you. Going through the ACT preparation with College Planning Partnerships was better than I could have hoped for. I worked with Sam and Mike who are both experts in helping kids truly understand the material and how to strategize for the tests. When first starting tutoring I was nervous that I might not be able to get to my goal score, but Sam and Mike kept everything so simple. They are not just great teachers but are great people. Zac has been my standardized test tutor beginning with the SSAT in eight grade and now the new SAT in Junior year. I wanted let you know what a great tutor he has been over the years. I wanted to thank you and your staff for providing academic guidance to my son Mason. Your collective efforts over the years proved invaluable. Mason's experience with College Planning Partnerships enabled him to increase his academic skill sets, to increase his SAT/ACT scores, and contributed significantly to his being accepted to the United States Coast Guard Academy. I am forever thankful and congratulate you and your staff on a job well done.

It’s Helen! I just wanted to profusely thank you for our session last night and I am ecstatic to say I felt very prepared on the SAT today. I went over a few of our tips before bed and when I began the reading section I took my time. I even noticed a few of the “more’s” (which symbolized faulty comparison) and was laughing and thinking of you the whole time!!!! I feel very confident about the test I submitted, and again wanted to thank you for taking the time to assist me!

Have a lovely Saturday night.

Working with Sam has tremendously aided in the college essay writing process. Not only was he able to provide me with relevant and honest feedback, he did it in a timely fashion that made it extremely convenient and efficient for my own schedule. He really focused on every sentence of my essay, ensuring that each phrase was worded in the best way possible, and also corrected any grammar mistakes that may have hindered the quality of the essay. His expertise was clearly exhibited by his system of editing and revision of my essays, and I always felt like I was in good hands when working with him.

Whenever I needed to talk through my work, Sam was always available to schedule on online call or appointment that worked with my schedule. And, perhaps what I appreciated the most during our online sessions was how Sam always emphasized the fact that what I wrote was my essay, and that I should voice any reservations or ignore any feedback that I didn’t like. Sam was able to guide me in the writing process, without interfering with my own writing style or voice – for that I am extremely grateful. I always felt that my opinion was valued. Furthermore, Sam’s expertise and accepting mannerisms really made it comfortable working with him; it was easy to share even my most personal stories with someone I had never seen face-to-face. In this regard, I highly highly recommend working with Sam and his team!

Kaela Schumann

I am VERY delayed in sending this thank you note on behalf of myself and my daughter, Kaela. After taking the SAT prep course she improved her scores by 100 points for each category - 100 points up in reading, 100 points in math and and 100 points in writing! Kaela got into all of the colleges she applied to. Thank you again! Thanks again for the excellent tutoring.

Chris got into Wesleyan early decision last night!! He is over the moon with happiness! Thank you again so much for your help! We are really grateful. Thank you for doing so much for Chris. Before he took the SATs he volunteered to me (no prompting on my part) that he was very pleased with his sessions with you. You have boosted his confidence a great deal, and that confidence boost, plus all the tips that you have given him, will help him infinitely on Saturday’s test.

I really appreciated your flexibility with the scheduling and your willingness to go longer than the hour and a half today. By the way, I have another son who is going to start the whole SAT preparation process next year when he enters 10th grade, and I will definitely ask for your help again (and sooner this time) if I spot that he has some weaknesses.

Again, thank you so much.

What I liked the most about CPP is that their approach is not a cookie cutter approach to test preparation. Sam, Zac, and Michael are willing to try strategies that best fit the learning style of the student. They are approachable, supportive, and tireless in their support of their students. CPP truly understands what it takes to improve scores, and they also are cognizant of the pressures of juggling test preparation with school obligations.

I wanted to thank Michael and Chandler for their helping me improve on my Math and Critical Reading. My score from the December test, before I got help from Michael and Chandler, was a 1910. I just got my scores in for the March tests and I got a 1450/1600 (720 Reading and writing/ 730 Math). For the March 2nd in school test, I got a 1460/1600 (710 Reading and writing/ 750 Math). I would not have made the improvements that I did without the help of Clinton College Planning Partnerships.

Thank you!

Thank you so much for all the help! I got 2140! I’m trilled that I improved upon my initial Math and Writing score by 100 points. This time around I scored much better in every single area. Now I’m above 700 in all three sections, which is exactly where I wanted to score, so I think that is it for me and my testing. I am truly grateful for the help I received to get there. Working on-line with you guys was far better than the any program I could find here in Peru, and the invaluable tips for the critical reading and practice for the math that you offered got me, helped me to score well above my Peruvian peers. I am truly grateful for the help I received to help me get there.

The incredibly effective tutorials that Sam and his staff provide brought my son's SAT scores from the "good" range into the "very impressive" range. We started the tutoring shortly before he took his first SAT on which he scored a 2090. My son took it two more times, and because Sam and Mike were able to pinpoint exactly where his weaknesses were, my son ended up with a superscore of 2370! After the second SAT, we realized that my son's 630 Reading score needed focus. Sam worked with him on reading for a few sessions, and my son scored an 800 on his next attempt! My son described the sessions as "engaging" and liked that Sam and Mike could tailor the sessions to his individual needs. He said they taught him the necessary tricks and helped him to "really get to know the test." He completely credits them with his success. I might add that my son's GPA is not terribly impressive which makes his success on the SAT that much more incredible!

Preparing for the SAT with College Planning Partnerships has been a great experience. The team was always available for questions, and the lessons were enjoyable as they were really interactive. We all know that SAT preparation can be a quite challenging process. I decided to approach College Planning Partnerships, because I wanted to be as ready as possible on test day, and I wasn't disappointed! Not only did the tutoring help me to understand the test the and its requirements, but it gave me little tips and tricks that I wouldn't have been able to find by myself. Theses tips allowed me to be quicker on test day, especially in the reading and grammar section. Indeed, knowing what answer to immediately cross out or how to answer questions while reading the text, made me gain time; a very scarce resource when doing the test! For the math section, the tutoring gave me the techniques and shortcuts to answer certain questions that were way easier than what they seemed at first. I would recommend their service without a doubt.

Hannah and Sadie Wannamaker

College Planning Partnerships did an excellent job helping both of our daughters, Hannah and Sadie, as they prepared to take both the SAT and the ACT. Both of our daughters struggled with standardize testing. Sam, Zac and the team provided great balance of knowledge, tips and encouragement to push my girls to the next level.

And the on-line method of delivery was convenient to all parties. A special thanks to College Planning Partnerships for helping my girls achieve the necessary scores to allow them to get into the college of their dreams!!!

The people at CPP helped me improve my scores on both the math and reading areas of the SAT. From going from a 1110 to a 1270 on the SAT is a big jump. My grades were a 620 in reading and a 650 on math, which were a lot higher than the PSAT scores. Also, I did pretty well on the essay too, which I had never even heard about before CPP. All of the strategies you learn with them help in the long run on the SAT. Also, the time management you learn helps big time. Overall, CPP was very helpful and I would highly recommend them.

I wanted to tell you I received my appointment to the Coast Guard Academy; I wanted to say thank you to you and Michael. I most certainly could not have done it without the help you both provided. And, I am really proud of my SAT score! I'll add that both you and Michael are extremely knowledgeable and demonstrated to me techniques and insights that not only significantly increased my SAT score, but my overall knowledge. If you listen to their advice and complete the homework assignments, your scores will increase. I would absolutely return to and recommend College Planning Partnerships. Kyra Goldstein

I am so glad that I decided to take advantage of the SAT prep classes at College Planning Partnerships. Sam and Zac were incredibly helpful in preparing me for the SAT and I went into the test more confident than I ever had for standardized tests in the past. Initially I was skeptical about the online tutoring, but I quickly realized that it was an extremely useful tool. With the offices being almost an hour away, the online tutoring was very convenient for my family and me and it allowed for much more flexibility with planning. Even though it was online, I didn’t feel like any part of the tutoring was lacking because the tutors were so engaged and all of the materials we would have used in person were right in front of me on my computer screen.

These prep classes really helped to make the test seem much less intimidating and I became more relaxed and calm when taking the test as a result. I learned so many useful test-taking strategies and was able to manage my time much more effectively. After taking the SAT for the first time, my scores were much higher than my PSAT scores earlier this year, and critical reading, which had often been my weakest section in past standardized tests, became one of my strongest sections on the SAT. Thank you so much for all of your help!

I was so grateful that many of my friends had recommended College Planning Partnerships and I will continue to recommend them to anyone who asks me for a good SAT prep course/agency. We appreciated all of their guidance and help, and will definitely be using them again when it's our younger son's turn to take the exam. Sam and Zac did a great job helping to prepare my son for the SAT. He had several sessions with them, and never once minded going there to work with them. They both were able to pick up his weakness and work with him to bring out his potential for this exam. My husband and I were both pleasantly surprised how much our son's score had gone up with their help, and how well he did on the exam!

I have absolutely no doubt that the tutoring I received from College Planning Partnerships helped to improve my SATs scores. They relied on visual and aural modes of learning, and were arranged at my convenience (one week before the exam!). Also, they were completely individualized– when I tripped up on a question, my tutor explained the correct way to find the solution and then reinforced the concept by introducing several other problems of similar format. Finally, the tutors are all wonderful people, and understand what students go through as they prepare for the SATs; they offered valuable insight and much needed encouragement as I prepared for the October 2013 exam. I would recommend this program to anyone and everyone looking for a way to prepare for the SATs!

I am 100% certain that taking the SAT Prep class this year improved my SAT scores. Not only did it help boost my scores in each of the individual areas, all the practice problems we did helped me grow accustomed to the form and length of the SAT before I had even taken it once. Learning all the tricks to avoid the traps in the SATs helped me identify them while I was taking the real thing, and the strategies we went over in class helped me immensely. Taking this class helped me get an amazing score on the SATs the first time I took them, and it is definitely going to be worth it in the long run for me personally.

We are so pleased with the results (2,360) our son Daniel achieved after working with Gary, Mike and Sam at College Planning Partnerships! The one-on-one instruction was exactly what Dan needed to master the strategy of standardized test-taking. His scores improved dramatically and his super score will certainly open many doors as far as college opportunities and perhaps merit scholarship endowment. What were once considered reach schools are now easily attainable! I can’t stress enough the value in spending the time and money with the tutors at College Planning Partnerships. I am so pleased to have worked with College Planning Partnerships! Their experience, clarity, and excellent tutors really made the difference for me and helped me achieve my desired score. Before, I struggled with pacing and understanding what the test was really looking for. However, the sessions I took helped create a step-by-step plan that I would follow for each section. The help I received was specific to my needs and weaknesses on the test. They did not teach the test as if there was a set formula to doing well.

My tutors were very encouraging and motivating. Also, after each session, my tutors provided extensive feedback to myself and my parents on my performance during the session. This was invaluable information. They had more faith in my abilities than I did! I would highly recommend College Planning Partnerships to anyone in need of SAT or ACT prep. Thanks,

Sam Rosensohn proved to be the missing link for our daughter Nikki’s ACT test preparation. I found out about College Planning Partnership and Sam through an internet search. Although a one hour drive away, there was something about Sam and his program that attracted my attention – probably the sense that Sam had the expertise, commitment, and patience to work well with a variety of students. Initially against any real commitment to test preparation, claiming that she didn’t need any help or that she could prepare on her own at the last minute, a stubborn Nikki agreed to meet with Sam “just once”.

Nikki immediately accepted Sam’s gentle approach, expert guidance, and numerous tips. Sam jumped right to the heart of the matter, quickly engaging Nikki in a discussion that sorted through the confusion and lead to a decision to focus on the ACT instead of the SAT. Sam also quickly grasped Nikki’s strength and weaknesses, and outlined a concise study plan that clearly did not entail any more time or prep than necessary. Sam’s flexibility in scheduling one hour phone sessions over the next few weeks worked well for Nikki and alleviated the concern regarding how she would fit this study into her extremely busy high school schedule.

Nikki now has a 35 “superscore” on the ACT, and a much less stubborn approach about college research and preparation as she nears the end of her junior year. We are very grateful for Sam’s great help.

I feel very fortunate to have been referred to College Planning Partnerships by a friend whom I respect. I felt very lost when approaching my oldest daughter’s crunch time for college applications as I had never attended college. She’s a good student, but needed to bring up her ACT score. With the very convenient online tutoring through College Planning Partnerships she increased her score to an enviable 29. Now, my youngest daughter is a junior and we’re getting a jump on the tutoring, returning to College Planning Partnerships, who, by the way, has helped me with other aspects of the college process for which I am grateful. I highly recommend College Planning Partnerships.

Even though we are in Florida and your tutors are in Connecticut, the quality of the tutors and methods used were far superior to what we were able to find here locally. We had worked with local tutors without much success, so I just wanted to write to say “thanks” for providing ACT tutoring for my son Bradley. Brad immediately commented on how much more effective the sessions were. We would recommend College Planning Partnerships, you and your team to anyone who needs SAT or ACT tutoring without reservations. The sessions Brad received by you and your team helped him greatly improve his score and truly reach his potential. He went into the test with much more confidence and his score of 33 reflected how much more prepared he was.

Mason Passavant

Most teenagers are so unbelievably busy these days that we expected we might have to pull teeth to get Mason to spend yet more time in a classroom-type environment and complete homework assignments no less, but we were wrong! From his very first visit, Mason was motivated by Sam’s knowledge and the one-on-one attention he received. Mason never gave us a hard time about going to one of his appointments with Sam, he always had positive feedback about his appointments, and he felt he made improvements to his techniques every single time he met with Sam. Mason scored over 2300 his first time at bat, and we couldn’t be happier with the results, or more proud of him. We know the testing techniques and writing instruction Mason received from Sam will serve him well not only through his SAT’s, subject tests and AP exams, but also through his college applications, essays and future testing. Emma Napper

Thank you so very much for all that you, Zac, and Ann Louise have done to assist Emma in achieving the scores on the SAT exam that she had hoped to receive. Not only did you hone her test-taking skills and engage her in thorough subject-matter reviews, but, more importantly, you boosted her self-confidence and instilled in her the belief that she was, and is, capable of accomplishing great things. As you know all too well, high school students, like Emma, who are enrolled in rigorous academic programs and looking to apply to selective colleges are under tremendous pressure and filled with angst (mostly self-imposed, of course). In your thorough, yet low-key, sessions with Emma, you calmed her and enabled her to approach her standardized tests with self-assurance and mettle. Even though you have never met Emma or me in person, but have communicated by either video-conferencing, e-mail, or telephone, I feel as though you have been not merely a tutor and a mentor to Emma, but also a friend to her and to me.

We will keep you posted on Emma’s travails through the college application process, and we will let you know where she “lands” for her college studies after completion of her senior year of high school. Thank you again for your having taken so much time with both her and me, and for having been so helpful in answering all of her and my questions and in helping us develop the best strategies for her test-taking.

Megan Ryan

Thank you so much for all the help, this was a fantastic class. The class helped me to feel prepared and confident for the SAT; when I went on test day I knew I was ready to tackle the test successfully. The instructors related well to all of the students, and I gained so many helpful tips about the test I feel it was completely worth my time. Learning all the strategies Gary and Andrew shared in class really improved my score. I was able to get 2010 on my SAT, an increase of almost 300 points from my PSAT, thanks to all I learned at College Planning Partnerships.

In addition to improving my scores on the SAT, my family has also gained insight into the entire college application process from Sam. Thanks to everyone at CPP, I am confident that I am on the right track to get ready for next year. This has significantly reduced the stress during my junior year, and I am sure I will be sending Sam good news next year about where I will attend college.

I highly recommend College Planning Partnerships to anyone interested in improving their scores. The instructors are very knowledgeable and always willing to help. They taught me how to go into the test confident in my own abilities and ready to do my best.

Sam Rosensohn came well recommended to us by neighbors and friends who had used his services for their children. We were looking for a more individualized approach for our son for his SAT preparation and College Planning Partnerships provided just that. Our son found Sam’s approach to SAT preparation to be very helpful and he enjoyed working with him. We also turned to Sam for guidance when it was time to write the essay for the common application.

I wanted to thank you for the work that you did with my son. He was happy with his CR and math but wanted to improve the writing section of the SAT. We were looking for a good SAT tutor, but all the other options were the same noise, “We can help,” 300+ point increase, etc. We were looking for something different. We wanted someone who really knew the SAT inside and out. Your knowledge of the tests is stunning. I would highly recommend you to any student who is looking to improve their test scores. We were so impressed with you that my son traveled 1 ¼ hours each way to be tutored by you. The results; He was able to increase his writing score by 90 points to 720 for a total of 2200. An increase of that size when you’re already near the top end of the scale is very hard to do. Again, thanks for the help.

Jacob Cobleigh

I first started working with College Planning Partnerships in mid-March, just four weeks before my first time taking the ACT. After taking their SAT/ACT Diagnostic, I decided to focus on the ACT. I scheduled two sessions over the Internet—one with Sam for English, and one with Zac for Science, as these sections were my two lowest scores on the diagnostic. Both sessions were quick (90 minutes) and painless. Throughout my session with Sam, I received strategies about how to answer the questions, when to be suspicious of an answer choice. I’m glad to say that in that short time period, he helped me raise my English score from a 26 to a 31.

Throughout the 90-minute session with Zac, I also received strategies that helped me perform better. However, I was having a very difficult time finishing the passages on time. Zac noted this, and sent me several past exams as extra practice between our session and test day, and was supportive throughout. Between his efforts and my own, I was able to raise my Science score from a 25 on the diagnostic to a 32 on the actual test.

Because of Sam and Zac’s efforts, my two worst scores on the diagnostic became my two best scores on the actual test, and helped me receive my goal composite score. I could not be any happier with the thorough and efficient help I received, and would recommend it to any prospective ACT takers.

Thanks again for your help,

Grant Hamilton

Our son, Grant, studied last summer with College Planning Partnerships. He then took his first SAT in October. When he got his results, we were able to see his strengths and weaknesses. He had done very well on the Verbal, but he had run out of time on the Math section. He decided to return to CPP for further tutoring. He learned very specific test taking skills. He took his next SAT in March. His Math increased by 90 points, and his Writing increased by 50. We are so pleased. He would still like to improve his writing score, so he is going to return for one more round of tutoring. Many thanks for your highly skilled help and your friendly atmosphere.

Tyler Hack

We are are thrilled by Tyler’s recent ACT scores – they have really lifted him to the next level. Thank you so much for all your help. Tyler took the ACT three times over a period of six months and we saw a significant increase in his ACT scores each time he took the test. Sam and Mike were really able to focus in on providing him with very critical information as to why he was sometimes making mistakes in his answers. Often it was not that he did not know the subject material, but rather that he was not reading or understanding the question correctly. They were able to provide him with the tools to really comprehend what the questions were asking, and how to answer them. This made a tremendous difference to Tyler’s scores. Both Sam and Mike were able to work with Tyler to show him how to be much more effective at answering the test questions. In the end Tyler was able to achieve a much higher grade than he had ever hoped for!

Tyler scored in the 99th percentile.

I would highly recommend College Planning Partnerships to any parent wanting their child to excel at standardized tests. Their thorough critique of any test really does help your child improve and perform better. They are also really good to giving the parents a concise appraisal of progress.

Thank you!!

I’m psyched about my scores. Thank you so much for all of your help; I really appreciate it. I think I’m going to take it again in October because I think I can do even better. Also, I still have the flashcards you loaned me – I didn’t forget, I just don’t know all of your summer hours.

Alex Gopinathan

I want to thank you for your help in preparing my son Alex for his SAT. Alex did well on his SAT – he got 800 for Math, 700 for Writing and 680 for Reading. Your assessment of his skills and your suggestions for improvement were invaluable in achieving his scores. He also used the strategies and advice you gave him and it helped him to be calm and confident during the test.

I also want to thank you for your help with preparing his college essays. Your suggestions and counseling helped him a great deal in preparing three outstanding essays. I am sure that these essays will greatly enhance his ability to get into the college of his choice. I commend you on your ability to listen to Alex, understand his needs and help him to focus his efforts so that he was able to complete the essays in a very short time.

Alex will graduate with the class of 2010 – he has been accepted to UConn’s Honor Program.

Once again, I thank you for your help in raising his SAT scores and crafting his outstanding essays.

Just wanted to give you feedback that Casey got into a number of colleges including Bucknell University which she ultimately chose. I can’t thank you enough for the ACT preparation that you and your staff provided. Her ACT scores were a large factor in her successful college application process. I am constantly recommending your services to my friends with kids starting this process. Thank you for making it easy to schedule and effective.

Michael McConville

I’d like to thank you for the SAT preparation you gave me, I improved vastly in all aspects of the SAT and learned valuable test taking strategies that helped not only on the SAT I but also several SAT II tests and even AP exams.

Coming into your program, I had always tested well on the math portion, but often stumbled through the critical reading and writing sections without much strategy or discipline. The test-taking strategies I learned in your class were invaluable to my success in standardized testing, and gave me not only the ability to score well but also confidence on test day.

Practice is a given in test preparation, but the guided practice I received at College Planning Partnerships, followed by thorough analysis and explanation helped get me over the hump of “good” scores into ones that really made my college resume competitive. On test day, I was able to maintain a high level of focus which kept me motivated from the beginning to the end, a focus I could not have maintained with simply practice at home.

I got a 2350 overall, with a 750 in math and 800 in both the critical reading and writing section, and used the same strategies to get a 750 on the literature SAT II. As a result, I got into the honors programs at schools where I was just hoping to get accepted. I feel I could not have done it without your help and the help of the CPP staff, and highly recommend your class.

Thanks Again,

Michael McConville

Zack Matunas

I am so pleased with Zachary’s improvements in his SAT scores. He improved his total composite score by almost 200 points and nearly 300 points from his PSAT scores ! This score, I believe, has opened up more “doors or opportunity” for Zack.

Zack and I are hoping he will improve a bit more in math and in reading when he retakes the SATs in October. Thanks again for all the great tutoring and tips given by you and your staff.

I look forward enrolling Alex, who will be a junior, in one of your classes and/or private tutoring.

I don’t know if you remember me, but I took your class last February at Westbrook high school. I took the SATs last March and got a 1850, 620 math and writing, and 610 reading. I just took them again in October and reviewed your binder for about a week before the test. My scores increased dramatically. I got a 2030, 750 math, 650 writing, and 630 reading. As you can see I’m not the best in the verbal and writing sections, but my math score skyrocketed. I just wanted to thank you for all the help and tell you how great your teachings are.

Thank you for all of your efforts in helping my daughter to raise her SAT scores. The total point increase of 590 was delightful. She was originally reluctant to take on the additional commitment of SAT prep instruction. After her first contact with your staff she requested additional learning up until the day of her test. The individual classes that she received were perfect for her busy schedule.

We appreciate you assistance in relieving a great deal of pre-college anxiety.

Steven Gagliano

I took the SAT’s as a seventh and eighth grader with the older version of the test as a part of Johns Hopkins gifted and talented program. My results were good, but not where I wanted them to be. I did not really see myself improving to the point where my scores would be equivalent or stronger to those of my competition for the caliber schools that I wished to apply to. I had taken other classes but the practice tests that I took revealed that my improvement was minimal, if anything at all. As freshman, the test changed: out with analogies, in with the writing section. That was when I knew it was time to make a serious change.

Sam Rosensohn was my solution. The first session with Sam was a sort of conference about, “me.” We discussed what my schooling up to that point had been like, what I did as extracurricular activities, what my scores were, where I wished to go to school, and what scores I wanted to attain. He got an overview of what I needed and wanted to work on by a series of small assessments and we were off and running.

The very next class, we discussed the writing and editing portion of the test. He talked about different aspects of the test but somehow it was not like a lecture. It was almost as though I was just having a conversation with one of my friends about sports. It took no effort to understand his strategies. He gave me a portion of the test to again gauge my skill, which we afterwards thoroughly dissected. Going through my mistakes, he added clues to help me through certain problems and work out even the toughest puzzles. We worked on constructing and planning the perfect essay, and continued lessons with small homework assignments that were truly no problem to complete at home. Continuing with other lessons we studied the intricacies of the verbal portion of the test and built upon my vocabulary. Gary Burgard helped me with my math and on occasion, grammar. Each of them was somehow able to make the test simple. I don’t even know how they did it. They just did. I ended up getting a 770 on the writing portion of the test and a 2180 overall. “Yup, that’ll do!” I could not recommend a better program than what College Planning Partnerships offers. They know what they are doing and truly care about their students.

We cannot say enough about the phenomenal service and guidance we’ve received from Sam and all the folks at College Planning Partnerships! It is a daunting thing to embark on this whole college journey. Sam worked with us every step of the way, guided us and has been incredibly accommodating!! Together we organized an SAT class with my daughter’s friends that met at our house. It was a small group who received both Sam’s and Kathryn’s incredible attention and instruction. The students were made to feel comfortable, were encouraged and motivated, and received honest and effective support and guidance. As our daughter says, “Mr. Rosensohn would do anything in his power to help me. I know he sincerely and genuinely cares about ME and my doing well – he doesn’t seem to be doing this for any other reason! I don’t feel like he cares about his business as much as he really wants to help me and see me do well and be happy!” If that’s not a testament to an effective and powerful educator, I don’t know what is!! — Oh, and yes, Sam certainly DID help her more than I can express, she DID do incredibly well on her SATs (over 2100), she HAS her college essay well under control and she IS happy, even in the midst of her fall semester of her senior year! Do yourself and your child a favor of a lifetime, pick up the phone and call Sam today!

We brought our daughter, Whitney, home from college and our sons, Matthew and Christian, have graduated from high school. My husband and I can finally take a deep breath (for a brief period of time) before packing all three up to send to their college addresses in the fall.

I wanted to send our thanks to you and Kathryn Ryan for being a part of our “team” in preparing all three of our children for college placement. It is, indeed, a journey in all the aspects of preparing for college. A huge part of that journey is the SAT process. You, Sam, and Kathryn have not only become our partners-in-prep, but also our friends.

Sam, you gave our kids the tools and confidence they needed to face the daunting task of achieving their best on the SAT tests. Advice, skills, knowledge, (and a little motivational encouragement) was a typical session with you.

Kathryn is an amazing teacher (and human being). She is intelligent and articulate. Most of all, Kathryn is caring and thoughtful. Never did any of my children leave her session with any question in their mind of any math concept that was being studied. Kathryn took her time and explained, with much patience, each complexity of math problems. She is truly a gem!

So again, thank you for being there – on our journey – as a means to an end. As we begin a new chapter, we look back on how happy we are to have done business with College Planning Partnerships and our friends, Sam and Kathryn. Please stay in touch.

Whitney is entering her junior year at Marist College, Matthew will attend Quinnipiac University in the fall of 2010; Christian will start High Point University, High Point, NC., in the fall of 2010.

Sincere regards,

After receiving my PSAT scores back, I began to get nervous about how my SATs would turn out, since my scores were anything but a reflection upon who I am as a student. Taking tests just is not my thing, and I knew I needed to find a way around that in order to get into one of my top choices for college. I chose to take the College Planning Partnerships’ course, and it was the best decision, and best money spent in a long time. For the duration of this course, I learned more than I could imagine; I learned everything I needed to be completely ready to take on the SAT.

What most people do not realize, is that that SAT is just one big mind game. It is full of tricks and patterns, but there is a way around it. For both verbal and math, I learned loads of ways the test tries to trick you that I would never have picked up on if it were not for this course. I became so good at the SATs that I went into the test room with the attitude that I was going to completely dominate that test… and I did.

The teachers are truly amazing. They know the SAT inside and out. They are always willing to help out and create that individual attention that makes it a very intimate class experience. You set your own goals for your SATs and the teachers aids to help you reach your target, which means that it is very individualized, and personal, unlike many other courses that you might take.

Overall, this course is worth every single ounce of your time, and every single penny you spend. I pushed my scores from the dumps all the way into the 700’s. It helped me understand not only how to complete certain problems, but also, how to comprehend the test as a whole; how to beat the system. Not only did I go into the SAT confident, and do well, but I also have improved my overall test taking skills that have helped tremendously in school. This course is absolutely wonderful; I am so thankful for this fantastic experience!

I write here to tell my tale so as to afford others the ability to learn from my experiences. I am admittedly not well adapted to standardized testing, and looked to the SAT as a hindrance in the assembling of a robust college resume. I spent merely a few sessions in the capable hands of College Planning Partnerships tutors, yet in that time I learned the strategy of effective test taking. The teaching style was adaptive and efficient, but arguably more important would be the emphasis on familiarization with the SAT and the type of approach most appropriate for tackling the problems asked.

Prior to College Planning Partnerships, I approached the college application process with apprehension for worries of a mediocre SAT score. After being a recipient of their expert advisement, I am disappointed to have lost any points on the test because I know that a perfect score was well within reach. But who am I to complain with a 2360?

I know that their tutoring made a difference, and it is well worth the time and money.

Patrick Loftus

Just wanted to let you know that starting to work with you and your company to help Patrick get the best test scores he can and get into the best college for his future aspirations is one of the things I’m most thankful for this year!

As I mentioned on the phone, I’m very pleased he received scores in the 99th percentile for Writing and 84th percentile for Math in his first PSAT attempt! Both Ken and I are very pleased with this “go round” and it really did good things for Patrick’s self-confidence. I know that the brief time spent with you and Kathryn made the difference, because he is not a “natural test taker”. It would be great if he could get onto the National Merit Scholarship Roll in his junior year!

I look forward to staying in touch and working with you over the next couple years to help Patrick do his best to conquer these tests & the whole getting into the right college routine. It was a bit of a “hard sell” to get him started on this path, but he’s actually enjoyed working with you both and it’s a “no brainer” now for him now to do more; thank you so much for winning him over!

Happy, healthy holidays to you and yours and all best wishes for 2007!

I am glad I took your SAT course because it helped me boost my confidence about the test. I had been taking practice tests on my own before I took your course and my score stayed consistently around 2100. I felt like there was nothing I could do to improve my scores and I had enough practice. Then I found out about College Planning Partnerships and your SAT course. I learned some refreshing new strategies to tackle the dreaded critical reading passages and the somewhat tricky grammar section. The strategies were far different from those in the books (Kaplan, Princeton Review) I bought and worked much better for me. I ended up getting a 2200 overall for my first time. I didn’t regret my decision to take the course and enjoyed learning how to beat the SAT.

Thanks for everything. Sincerely,

Getting SAT scores back is one of the most nerve-wracking experiences high schoolers must go through, but fortunately for me it was a celebration. I am so relieved to not only be done with SAT’s, but to have solid scores that will help me in applying to colleges. It may have been a lot of hours of prep, but it was definitely worth it. All the tips and practice from the class really helped; the hard work paid off in the end. In addition to showing up to each class and doing as much of the homework as possible (I only managed to complete about half), be sure to review grammar and read an SAT vocab book. I carried my “SAT Vocab for Dummies” book everywhere over February break, and that helped me A LOT. Take the practice tests in class seriously, but don’t get discouraged if you haven’t improved. You’ll find that it’s much easier to focus on the actual test day. I am so thankful for this class and highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get SAT’s over with fast, and get a good score the first time around.

Colleen Phelan

I came into the doors of College Planning Partnerships late on the first day. Let’s just say my best friend and I weren’t so great at waking up early on a Sunday; but since that day I knew every minute spent preparing for the SAT would be worth it, and it was.

I was personally hoping to raise my math scores from the results I had gotten on the PSAT and I did so with an increase of 60 points. What really amazed me was the improvement I saw on the writing section. I had been somewhat content with the scores I had gotten on the PSAT and many colleges had told me they were still unsure if they would consider the writing section scores for admission. But once I started reviewing the tips that Sam had provided for mastering the writing questions, I knew I could drastically improve my scores. Sam spelled out every type of question that the SAT favored on this portion of the test and after reviewing those tips every week I felt more confident about that portion of the test than any other.

When I took an in-class version of the writing section I scored an 800 and was blown away. The confidence I took away that day and the reassurance I felt that I really could get a perfect score on this section is worth more than I can say. Because of that confidence I felt unstoppable when I took the SAT and Sam’s tips applied to every question on the writing section. I scored an 800 on the writing section of the actual SAT and I am sure that anyone looking to improve on this portion of the test will be able to accomplish their goal with Sam’s help.

I can’t think of any program that could’ve suited me better or been more worthwhile. Whenever I hear someone worried about the SAT, I tell them to go to Sam because he can truly work wonders.

Thank you for all of your help!

I wanted to again thank you for all of your help preparing Mia for the ACT. When she first met with you and took an initial prep test we were concerned about her reading score. With your help she increased her score dramatically.

I also appreciate the fact that you guided her toward only concentrating on the ACT and not taking the SAT at all. She was concerned about this initially but I think that only focusing on one type of test again helped her score much better.

After Mia received her ACT composite score she asked me to call you and thank you for saving her life. She completely believes that without your insight and strategies she would not have done as well as she did.

Mia scored in the 99th percentile: English, 32; Math, 33; Reading, 31; Science, 35. Her composite score was 33.

We all thank you.

Derek Fish

I can’t believe it has been almost a year since Derek and I met you at the Daniel Hand Summer College Seminar. Since that time, working with you at College Planning Partnerships has been the best decision we have made to date!

Your SAT prep class was right on target and your advice to “test early” was invaluable. Derek was able to take your SAT prep class during the summer following his sophomore year and take the SAT I test in October of his junior year. He had terrific first-round scores, which allowed him to judiciously plan his college admission strategy. Armed with his SAT scores, he was able to accurately target colleges at the appropriate level and to plan for his future SAT testing in the spring. The stress of “not knowing” where he stood was removed from his very busy junior year…and from our household! We can’t thank you enough for providing us with this very valuable advice and we tell all of our fellow college bound friends, “take Sam’s advice to prep and test early”!

We plan to take your corollary advice to start the application process early and Derek will be working with you this summer on his application essays. This too will remove the stress on Derek to ‘beat the clock’ next fall and on me as the anxious parent!

Thanks you again for providing us with your college planning expertise and guiding through this often tumultuous time. You have truly been our college planning partner.

Derek scored 780 on the math, 710 on the verbal, and 690 on the writing. Derek will attend Dartmouth in the fall.

I provide my highest endorsement of Sam Rosensohn and the entire team at College Planning Partnership for ACT test preparation. The preparation course was outstanding but Sam’s genuine enthusiasm, concern and personal attention made the process so much easier. As the result of the excellent test preparation, our son improved his ACT test score by 6 points. This put him in the Top 1% and enabled him to be admitted to his first choice college with a substantial scholarship. Thanks so much, Sam! Alex will head to Colorado College in the fall of 2010. He was accepted to every school he applied to.

Navigating through the college admission process is time consuming and stressful. Perhaps the most stressful part for parents and students alike are the college entrance exams. One of the best decisions we made was deciding to work with Sam and College Planning Partnerships to help prepare for the exams. What we soon realized is that Sam provides way more than just test preparation. In addition to providing top quality personalized tutoring in terms of test taking strategy, technique and content, Sam took a personal interest in my daughter Cat’s success that was beyond all expectations. College Planning Partnerships was like a support team that was helpful in all aspects of Cat’s college admissions process. As a parent, Sam was the expert I could turn to for sage advice on all the arcane details of college admissions. In terms of test preparation, College Planning Partnerships helped to build Cat’s confidence and ultimately gave her the skills needed to attain test scores that we initially felt were not possible – – a 370 point increase on the three SAT sections over her first attempt! These were the scores Cat needed to ensure entry to her number one college choice. When Cat finally received the scores that were higher than she had ever hoped for, the first thing she wanted to do was to go down to tell Sam in person, she knew Sam would be as excited as she was! Thanks again!

At College Planning Partnerships I learned so much about the SAT. Sam and Gary taught me many things about the test both conceptually and in terms of the subject matter. I went in with a goal of a 2000 cumulative score and came out with a 2080. I was very nervous about the SAT and Sam helped to ease those nerves by teaching me to interpret the test for what it is, without over-thinking things or allowing myself to be tricked. The homework assignments and practice tests are great for understanding where you are and the rate at which your skills are improving. I highly recommend utilizing College Planning Partnerships tutorials for your SAT preparation course. I scheduled private sessions and found them to be extremely effective. If you are someone who works better in a one-on-one scenario, then taking part in private tutorials would be great for you!

After taking the March SATs I was panicking greatly. I was not satisfied with my scores and was worried that my test anxiety would only sky rocket. I then found out about this amazing SAT course, and Sam Rosensohn. After only one class my confidence was heightening. Consequently, when I took the test in June, there was a great increase in my scores and I was thrilled. Emily Gao

At College Planning Partnerships I was able to learn how to take the SAT. Before coming to this program, I was very anxious about my SATs. Just being “smart” does not necessarily mean that one tests well. I have had several friends who ace their math and English courses at school, with less-than-phenomenal scores on the SAT. The SAT is a tricky test—the material covered isn’t that complicated, but the little tricks and the sheer length of the test are exhausting. Upon entering classes, I was able to learn how the test works. Before this class, I thought that SAT prep consisted of taking dozens of practice tests. This method was tiring and the results were not satisfying in comparison to the hours of effort I put into the tests. SAT prep is time consuming. By taking this class, I was able to limit my test-prep to two three hour classes a week. I felt like these classes were highly efficient. Instead of taking test after test, we did sections of tests in class and analyzed our answers and the test’s tricks. I was able to reach my goals for the SAT. I have always struggled with the writing section of the SAT. In my high school, the formal teaching of grammar is not stressed. When I started studying for the SAT, I made the mistake of trying to learn several years’ worth of formal grammar. I had no idea what a “dangling participle” was. Grammar takes years to master, and I expected to take my SAT in a few months. During these SAT classes, I learned consistent guidelines and patterns of the SAT verbal test. I didn’t have to learn new and fancy names for concepts I already knew. I learned to apply my previous knowledge with my newly learned test taking skills to ace the SAT. One of my biggest challenges in taking the SAT was confidence. Initially I did not feel like I would be able to score well on this test. When I panic during a test, I tend not to be able to think as clearly, and I usually score lower as a result. These classes were an effective way to build confidence quickly. You and Gary focused on my strengths and showed me how to score well using what I already knew. Thank you very much. Sincerely,

Emily Gao

Our son Ricky received wonderful guidance, instruction and encouragement from Sam Rosensohn and his staff at College Planning Partnerships. Not only did they help him prepare for the SATs and realize a 300 point improvement in his test scores but they also provided invaluable assistance and advice regarding his college essays and applications. College Planning Partnerships helped Ricky dig deep into himself to write essays that truly showed colleges who he is. Most importantly, College Planning Partnerships truly lives up to its name. It is more than a simple business arrangement but a true partnership between your family and theirs. Dan Saviteer

As I drove down I-95 this week I was reminded of our many trips down to Clinton two years ago for Dan’s SAT prep course. Dan began the classes worried about his initial test scores and prepared to work hard. He was immediately provided a well-designed and developed program of study. Your expectations for daily effort were high and your enthusiasm was infectious. With a clear plan Dan soon developed a focused study routine. He was rewarded with faster test times and improved accuracy in the practice exams. When we returned to Loomis that fall, his improved study skills were evident – his grades were stronger and his SAT scores competitive. He was thrilled when he was accepted to Villanova! His grades there have been outstanding; he has a leadership position in the student government and now has his eyes on several possibilities for further study. As a member of the honors program he is amazed at the opportunities open to him. So as we head into sophomore year, I thought it was high time that I let you know how much we continue to appreciate your instrumental role in Dan’s college process! With sincere thanks,

We want to thank you for providing such a high quality program in SAT prep for our son Matthew. We knew Matt had the ability to do well on the SAT, however, we were a bit worried about the discipline and quality of the test prep needed to maximize his scores in a world of competing priorities (sports, school work, extra curricular activities, etc.) Your course, through its classroom sessions and homework assignments, not only ensured Matt’s focus but also provided valuable insight into content, structure, and strategies. The results speak for themselves. His scores on the SAT I and SAT II have moved him a step closer to gaining admittance into the ultra competitive colleges on his list. We look forward to working with you over the next couple of years as Matt continues on his college admission journey. Matthew, a high school junior, scored 800 on the math portion of the SAT (99th percentile); 740 on the critical reading portion (97th percentile), and 760 on the writing (99th percentile). Matt also prepped with us for the SAT IIC in math. He scored 790 on that test. Sincerely,

Working with Mr. Rosensohn has been the best decision of my college process. As my parents brought home book after book of SAT preparation material, and I was given countless flashcards to learn, being well prepared for the SATs seemed like such a daunting and nearly impossible task. Mr. Rosensohn, however, had everything figured out, all I had to do was go to class. His tips for writing a perfect essay paid off, and his techniques for the reading and writing sections of the test were invaluable. Writing several essays and going over a plethora of practice questions gave me the practice I needed, and with Mr. Rosensohn’s ideas for cracking the test, I was able to become very confident and ultimately do well on test day. Ok, so maybe I had to do a little more than just show up to class, but I can attribute a great deal of my success to Mr. Rosensohn’s guidance. Sincerely,

During Ryan’s freshman year, we attended the college night offered by his guidance department at Daniel Hand High School and we were encouraged by your presentation on how to prepare for the standardized testing aspect of admissions. Two of the things you mentioned seemed to be most practical. First, you indicated that the standardized tests have almost a language of their own and that by learning the language, and/or its logic, significant testing improvements could be achieved. Then, you stated that your firm, College Planning Partnerships, would customize the program it offered based on the tests that the student was preparing for and the level that the student was at as an individual. This seemed to be a much better approach than the “one size fits all” training offered by the Princeton Review or the Kaplan Review type courses. As a result, we had Ryan work with you in preparation for his PSAT test during the summer between his sophomore and junior years. As he was preparing for the test, he worked on Math and English skills that applied to both the PSAT and the SAT. In October of his junior year he took the PSAT and came out of the test feeling so confident that we had him take his SAT’s the next month. Due to a quirk in the timing for receiving test results, we were thrilled to find out that Ryan had scored in the 99th percentile (with a combined score of 2300) for the SAT exam, before finding out how he did on the PSAT. When his PSAT score was given to him at school, he found he was also in the 99th percentile on that test and might even qualify for National Merit recognition. Overall, we have been extremely pleased with the support and guidance you and your co-workers have provided. We believe that this approach has been instrumental in maximizing Ryan’s standardized testing performance and relieving him of the stress associated with taking and retaking these tests, in order to achieve his best score. Sincerely,

We just wanted to thank you for all of your help with our son’s tutoring. His score improved 160 points after his sessions with you and your staff. This has opened the door for more opportunities regarding his choice of colleges. The practice, strategies and advice he received from you proved invaluable. Sincerel

Nancy & Tom Gerson

Dear Parents, Who would ever believe six junior high school students would not only willingly, but enthusiastically go to weekly grammar/vocabulary sessions at College Planning Solutions. Of course, they each wanted to drive, but all were eager to go. This is my strongest endorsement. Students want to be there, and hence they learn. Sam Rosensohn, and Gary Burgard give their hearts and their years of experience in business and the field of education to nourishing, preparing, and achieving individual goals for their students. “Results with heart” is how I would best describe College Planning Solutions. As a parent, I am extremely pleased to have Sam and Gary as adult mentors for my daughter, and as a friend for myself and husband – they also bonded with us through great follow-up and open channels of communication. Sincerely,

Entering my junior year meant one thing for me: SATs. My college, career, and future altogether could hinge on one single test. I knew I had to look for help; luckily for me, I looked in the right direction. At College Planning Partnerships they give each and every student they work with personal and specified guidance to help them earn the scores they want. They are willing to take whatever steps necessary to procuring the desired outcome. Furthermore, they open you up to the test. For most students, the only glimpse of what SATs are like comes from the PSAT; however, by the end of a course with College Planning Partnerships, you’ll know the test like the back of your hand. Their advice and assistance helped me to take the test with more confidence and assurance in what to expect. College Planning Partnerships doesn’t stop there though. Their friendly aid extends past the course to almost whatever you might need: SAT IIs, college application letters, financial aid; you name it. With College Planning Partnerships you pay a small fee and get immeasurable service for more than just SATs. I highly recommend College Planning Partnerships to any student looking for help with SATs or colleges. Thanks for all your help. I’ll probably be in touch later on this year and you’ll be seeing my sister over the summer. Hope all is well. Sincerely,

Garrett Bowen

Garrett took the SAT for the first time in April and scored 710 on the critical reading, 700 on the math, and 670 on the writing. A terrific first at bat! Garrett started at Tufts.

Alex Thompson

Our daughter, Alex Thompson, recently completed Mr. Rosensohn’s SAT preparation course. Alex has been a strong student for a long time, but Mr. Rosensohn’s care and focus gave her a new level of confidence to go after the tests. College Planning Partnership is well named. Mr. Rosensohn has created a true partnership for young people to put their best forward in the testing environment. The courses help students fill out areas of weakness, and give them comfort with what to expect. When Alex came out of the tests, I asked her how they went. She actually said, “I thought they were kind of fun.” (And her scores were great.) We highly recommend Mr. Rosensohn’s College Planning Partnership course for students planning to take the SAT. Ashley & Matt Hills

Once again, thanks for your assistance both with Ashely and Matt. Following a difficult and tumultuous freshman year at college resulting in academic probation, acceptance to another university was nearly impossible and was met with rejection notices. After meeting with Sam Rosensohn and gaining her self-esteem and her positive attitude things quickly turned around for Ashley. Sam’s knowledge and guidance led her to be accepted to the fall semester of 2005 by a school that six weeks earlier had rejected her. She is now happy at school in Boston with a GPA of 4.0. Needless to say we are indebted to Sam’s expertise for our son, Matt, as well. Sincerely,

College Planning Partnerships came to our rescue when, at the very last minute, a national SAT prep company cancelled the course my daughter had registered for. The course offered by CPP was flexible, responsive and highly personalized to my daughter’s strengths and weaknesses. The instructors were so engaging that my daughter looked forward to each class. The encouragement and motivation offered by this terrific staff resulted in excellent scores on all three portions of the SAT. Sam Rosensohn provides insightful, constructive and reassuring advice and information for students and their families involved in the complex pursuit of college admission. Sincerely,

Josh Crain

I have known Sam for many years, and observed him starting his College Planning Partnership. My son, Josh, was one of his first students. What makes Sam particularly special is that he really enjoys helping students do better in school. He honestly gets excited about their progress. Josh needed help in many different areas in his educational program, and Sam was there to help him in many ways. It was through Sam that Josh was successful in his education — I could not have done it alone. Recently, my younger son, Jon, wanted to go to Williams School (he applied no where else). I thought that maybe Sam could help Jon with the SSAT test, since his standardized tests scores were always just above average. Well, in just the few months prior to the test, Sam worked intensively with Jon. Jon gained the knowledge and the confidence to take the SSAT, and achieve scores that allowed him to be accepted to Williams. Both my sons loved to go to see Sam. The only downside to Sam is that it costs money. At first, I questioned whether or not it was worth the money. But after seeing the improvement in both of my sons, and their successes, I think that it’s worth it 100%. I would recommend Sam to any student who wants to improve their chances of getting into a better school. Sincerely,

College Planning Partnership’s SAT class was essential to my success on the SAT’s and then eventually in being accepted to ten top universities. I also went on to receive scholarships to all ten of those schools and a scholarship totaling $74,000 to George Mason University. I know that this would have not been possible without the help of College Planning Partnerships. While I have always done well in school, I needed help with the SAT. My PSAT scores were decent, but I saw a 240 point improvement from my PSAT score to my SAT score after taking the course at College Planning Partnerships. Sam and his fellow tutors are extremely knowledgeable about the college admissions process. The process can get very complicated and confusing, especially for a family going through it for the first time. Sam was extremely helpful in enlightening me. After taking the SAT and receiving my scores, I was overjoyed. I received a 700 on the reading section, 690 on the math and 660 on the writing portion, for a total of 2050. I could see that I had improved drastically from when I began the course. I took the SAT course because I am the type of student who needed a structured system for studying the SAT. I probably would have not sat down and done it myself. This is why the class was so beneficial to me, because it forced me to study for the SAT and practice nightly. I learned valuable techniques which helped me a lot on test day. I will be forever grateful to College Planning Partnerships for assisting me both on the SAT’s and in the college admissions process. I would have been lost without them! Sincerely,

Let me sing the praises of Gini Nicholls, College Planning Partnership’s SAT math tutor. She’s a delightful person and a master at one-on-one tutoring. After only two one-and-a-half hour sessions with Gini, my daughter improved her SAT math score by 70 points. My daughter is continuing to work with Gini before she takes the SAT one more time. It has been a great experience. Thanks so much,

How are you? You may remember me as one of your former students. Your tutoring on the SAT and on the college essays helped me get into MIT. One of the most useful tools you gave me to use on the reading section was the Money-Vocab list. I was going to let my little brother use it to study, but unfortunately it got deleted from my computer. So I was wondering if you might be able to send me the first few lists again to help him prepare for an upcoming test. I’ll definitely keep recommending you to both my younger brothers, and chances are you’ll get my more ambitious littler brother when he’s older. Thanks,

I entered Mr. Rosensohn’s SAT prep class not knowing what to expect. I soon realized that it was more than your average prep course. This class provided me with a comprehensive review of all kinds of problems I would encounter on the SAT. The unique style of teaching ensured uniform improvement for students of all ability levels. The strategies provided allowed me to solve problem and answer questions that seemed impossible to me beforehand. I know for sure that Mr. Rosensohn and his team have tremendously raised my score, and I would recommend his class to any student who would like to do well on the SAT. Sincerely,

This is the first endorsement I have ever written: I imagine you are trying to decide where you should send your child for SAT/ACT tutoring. A quick summary of my experience may help make the decision easy. My oldest son worked with three other tutors prior to working with Sam Rosensohn. Neither he nor I felt that those tutors were really providing any SAT guidance, but instead were simply providing more general academic assistance. When a friend of mine recommended Sam, we switched and quickly found that Sam has an actual method for helping kids achieve their SAT/ACT potential. Sam’s method is based on his detailed research and understanding of how the SAT test works. As a result of Sam’s program, my son could tell after the first session that he would make a lot of progress using Sam’s methods. There were three key results from my son working with Sam. First, he achieved a belief that he could improve and therefore he was willing to do the assignments that Sam gave him. Second, he gained confidence in himself, which is critical for success in anything one does. Third, his scores increased beyond what others told him was achievable. Sam also has a unique ability to connect with kids. This skill is the one in particular that sets him miles a part from others. And he also does a great job keeping me informed, which I appreciate since it can be tough spending a lot of money on SAT tutoring and not having any idea if progress is being made or not. I am confident that you and your child will be pleased with him!!! Sincerely,

College Planning Partnerships played a key role in crossing the bridge from high school to college. As a first timer in the college prep scene the information and choices were daunting. One call with Sam Rosensohn provided a road map for our family to follow during the months to come. Sam’s passion and commitment to motivate students, to teach them how to realize their potential, to understand the building blocks toward college applications and to let loose and dream a little, is remarkable. Through working with Sam and his staff, Eric improved in all aspects of the SAT scores wrote a wonderful and insightful essay and saw the ‘college light’. Eric was accepted to all the schools that he applied to and decided to attend Muhlenberg College in Pennsylvania. If you’re approaching the ‘bridge’ to College you need to cross with the College Planning Partnership team by you side. Sincerely,

Lora Manley

Just wanted to let you know that Lora worked hard all August and into September to raise her math ACT score which she did. From a 29 to a 36! An added bonus was a 36 in reading, up from a 33. We were very pleased with College Planning Partnerships. We found the staff to be very easy to work with as well as being knowledgeable and professional. My daughter is a strong student who often doesn’t test well. She is careful, thorough and precise but these are not necessarily beneficial traits when taking a time-limited test! They helped her work through this and discover strategies that would help her specifically move more efficiently through the problems. As a result, my daughter felt very comfortable (well as comfortable as one can be going into a test that can determine, in part, where she’ll go to college) and well prepared when she took the ACT. As a result, the test more accurately reflected her true ability. Lora took the ACT and scored in the 99th percentile Thank you for helping her out! We really appreciate it.

Jack Roth

We registered our son Jack for last January’s class with College Planning Partnerships just days in advance. Mr. Rosensohn was easily reached and proved to be enormously helpful and reassuring, offering a comprehensive description of his services along with other tips and suggestions that were also useful. Unsure of what to expect during class time, Jack found the information he received from all the instructors to be far more helpful and interesting than he had anticipated. He especially appreciated learning, in his words, “How to dissect the reading portion.” The Roth family thanks everyone at CPP. We are very pleased and proud of the results. Sincerely,

Cynthia Brunelle

Hello, my name is Cynthia Brunelle and I am 16 years old, currently a junior at Daniel Hand High School in Madison. I signed up for Sam’s class at the end of my summer before junior year because a good friend of mine was already taking his classes. At that point, I was worried that I had waited too long to take the classes, or that I was taking the classes too early. However, when I drove out to the classroom and met Sam, I knew that I was making the right decision. Not only did he listen to all my fears, but he sat and talked with my mother and I about my previous PSAT scores, my coming college experience, what SAT prep can do for my scores, and what I should be doing – as a junior, and as a soon-to-be-college student. That first day, we talked with Mr. Rosensohn for over an hour – on his break time. I decided to take the course, and quickly re-learned a lot of things that I had forgotten, pertaining to grammar or simple math. And the best part of the whole affair; the class worked. I received my Junior Year PSAT Scores last week. My “Math” score jumped from a 520 to a 670. My “Critical Reading” went from a 630 to a 730. And my “Writing Skills” went all the way from a 670 to a 780. I am thrilled with my scores. My reading and writing scores are both high enough to get into Yale; my math score is high enough to give me a comfortable shot at Wesleyan. I am now ready and signed up to take the real SAT at the end of January. I am nervous, but will look back over the notebooks filled with helpful advice that Sam gave me, as well as the SAT practice books. As for now, I just want to thank Sam for his energetic, enthusiastic, (wait until you see him teach) and wonderfully constructed class.

I want to tell you how much our son enjoyed working with you and the fine tutors you have provided to help him prepare for both the SAT and ACT tests. The tutors that worked with him on science and math, and your expertise with verbal and reading skills really helped him improve his test scores. Your training clearly helped him approach the tests with more efficiency, confidence, and understanding of what to look for and how to apply specific strategies. Your insight into his personal processing style and the areas where he most needed assistance truly helped him break through some barriers to effective test taking. You provided a comfortable and professional atmosphere for students, as well as fine resources, and there our son has always had a positive attitude about attending sessions at College Planning Partnerships. We appreciate all that you have done to benefit him as he prepares for college and would highly recommend your services to other families. Thank you for your great work. Sincerely,

You were a fantastic SAT Tutor. Anyone who is looking to improve his SAT scores dramatically should definitely seek his help. I brought my total SAT score up 110 points in just three meetings with Sam. He helped me “hone” in on my areas of weakness so I could improve the most where it was necessary. It is very important to anticipate which sections are going to give you the most difficulty on the test. Mr. Rosensohn gave me tools to use during the test to derive the correct answer without getting overwhelmed or frustrated. I was able to stay focused for the entire time. Not only that, but I was also able to knock the easy questions off without doubt in order to pursue the tougher questions with more time and confidence. I have heard so many people talk about hours and hours of private tutoring, and still not receive sufficient results. Sam will give you the most know-how about the SAT’s with the least amount of overall time spent. Thanks.

“Study, Study, Study!” If it had not been for Sam Rosensohn’s advice and encouragement, I would have bombed the SATS. He has done so much for me. I never expected that I would actually get into my first choice college! I took the SATS for the first time in June of 2005. I had previously taken Sam’s prep class and felt comfortable with the information I had learned. I did well on the test but not as well as I had wanted. I opted to get tutored over the summer and retake the SATS in October. Sam and Gary(one of his math tutors) helped me all summer long to prepare for the SATS and with college essays, financial aid applications and college applications. I wrote my first college essay in 20 minutes! My mom has also used Sam for assistance with college problems. I am very thankful to have met Sam, especially for all of the help he has given me. Thanks again for all of your help. I’ll keep in touch!!! Sincerely,

I walked into College Planning Partnerships SAT Prep with a 1930 on my SATs. I needed help on the critical reading section and the writing section. In my mind, 2000 was the magic number, and that is exactly what I told Sam. In around six classes I gained the knowledge that got me a 2100. I raised my SAT score 170 points in two sections of the test: 70 points in the critical reading and 100 points in the writing. I also walked away with an essay for the common application that Sam, my father, and, more importantly, my college counselor was happy with. This course worked for me because Sam taught me not only the raw material on the test, but also the strategies I must know in order to earn a higher score. In class we worked on the strategies: how to approach each question and what the graders are actually looking for in an essay. For homework I practiced these strategies and learned new vocabulary words. This may sound similar to a Princeton Review course, but Sam charges less money. How much less? Sam charges $80 per hour, while a PR course charges $200 per hour; Sam charges $120 per hour less than PR does. I got my results at a tremendous speed. In about the equivalent time of two days of school, I gained the knowledge that awarded me 170 more points on my SAT and had a final draft of a college essay in my hand. Sam knows the tricks that College Board puts in the test, and he taught me how to avoid them and how to steer myself in the right direction. To top it off, my parents saved over $1500 by sending me to College Planning Partnerships SAT Prep as opposed to a Princeton Review course. I recommend this course to any student who wishes to improve his or her SAT score quickly and painlessly. Sam is a very easy man to work and get along with, but he still posses an unmatched knowledge of the test. A higher SAT score opens doors for better colleges, and College Planning Partnerships SAT Prep gives students the keys to these doors. Finally, to parents: If you enjoy seeing your child succeed and saving a large chunk of money at the same time, sending your child to this course is the best choice you can make. Sincerely,

College Planning Partnerships is far more than an outstanding SAT prep service. Sam provided effective individualized support to both our children throughout the entire college planning process ranging from high school course selection to the application process itself. Perhaps the greatest impact Sam provides has been to broaden and deepen our children’s horizon while instilling in them a stronger level of self expectation. Our children are far better equipped college applicants as a result. I strongly endorse CPP and recommend taking advantage of the benefits we received as early as possible. Please know we are eternally grateful for your advice, guidance, and support throughout this process. Chris would not be where he is without you. Sincerely,

As parent of a son who scored in the 95th percentile on the SSAT under the guidance of the College Planning Partnerships, I cannot thank Sam and his staff enough for their expertise and dedication. In a very professional but sensitive manner they first quickly evaluated the strengths and weaknesses of our son Neelesh with respect to the Test, then devised an individual program to address them. They were very flexible and generous with their time, thorough in their approach, and very mission oriented. Mr. Rosensohn knows what the students and the parents want and need when they come to him for help. Our son felt very comfortable and yet challenged as he progressed under the guidance of Mr. Rosensohn. Our daughter had her heart set on going to Williams for high school. Fortunately, we heard about College Planning Partnerships and decided to ask Sam and Bill for their help with our daughter taking the SSAT. She took the first test before she attended any sessions with Sam or Bill. After their expert guidance and techniques for test taking, she raised her score by over 30 percentage points. They both provided practical help as well as emotional support throughout the process. Sam continually kept contact with our family to see how our daughter was doing or to offer a helpful thought he may have forgotten to mention. He went out of his way to gather information for the application process. He continues to be a cheerleader for our daughter and now is helping to improve her writing skills. We cannot thank Sam and Bill enough for the guidance and education they have provided. We plan on using their services again when it is time for our daughter to take the SAT for college. My son Brad took Sam’s class in the Spring of 2004 hoping to improve on his SAT scores. However, I feel that this program far exceeded those expectations. Not only did it help him develop a strategy for taking the test, but also gave him confidence that he could do well on it. Each class provided valuable practice with the types of questions that often prove most troublesome, and practical advice about what to do the night before and the morning of the test. Most importantly, Sam takes a personal interest in each student and family , and is always there with whatever advice and help he can give , even after the classes are over. Brad is now enjoying his Freshman year at Kenyon College. Sincerely,

After my son’s first two months of his freshman year, he was quite unhappy at Wheaton College. It was clear to me and him that he needed to make a change. However, I was afraid that I was not up to launching my third college application effort. As a parent, I was well aware of the role I had to play in the admissions process. The fact that my son was in school in Rhode Island and I was in New York City added another dimension to the effort. Once I decided to seek professional assistant, I found Sam Rosensohn through a parent resource service. At the time I was not completely sold on this approach to the college application process, especially since I had not used it the last two times. I also thought that it was pricey and was uncertain of the impact of the process. On the other hand, I knew that I needed the assistance of an objective and experienced professional. It came to pass that the dedication, experience, patience, flexibility and commitment exhibited by Mr. Rosensohn was exactly what my son needed. He was located in Connecticut which was closer to my son’s college. He made himself available to my son at flexible hours that were designed to accommodate my son’s academic and athletic schedule. In addition, he did not do the work for Jonathan but instead he made him assume ownership for his work and I believe that was a good experience because he was invested in his transfer effort. My son transferred to Georgetown University as a sophomore and has it has made a tremendous difference in his college life. Sincerely,

I just wanted to let you know that my daughter Carson has been faring very well with her college acceptances. Thus far, she’s heard back from three schools and has been accepted to all three. I just wanted to send you a word of thanks for your help in preparing my daughter for the SATs. As you know, her initial test didn’t go too well and her scores were going to hurt her chances for admission to the colleges she hoped to attend. So she decided to look into SAT prep courses. After reading your column in the local paper and speaking to you on the phone, my daughter and I decided to give your prep course a try. In the fall, my daughter took the SATs in October and then, after some last minute tutoring from your team, she took them again in November. Her persistence and your support and instruction enabled her to raise her combined math and verbal score by approximately 150 points. That should be enough to get her in to the schools of her choice. So, thank you and please thank your tutors as well. Your professionalism and willingness to accommodate our needs on short notice gave us a very positive result that should open the door to a satisfying college career for my daughter. Best Regards,

I have to admit, I was hesitant about the course at first. I had already taken the test and scored a 1260, which I considered to be just fine. As is generally the case, my parents were nagging me to take the test again, and, after a few weeks of subtle arguments between the three of us, I agreed. My class schedule at the time was pretty packed, so I wasn’t thrilled about taking the course, but after the first class I realized that I was definitely going to score better on the SATs the next time around. All of the lessons that Mr. Rosensohn and I went over had little tricks that I never would have noticed, but seemed so obvious after they were pointed out to me. All of the subtleties that Mr. Rosensohn helped me pick up on really added up to give me a much better score. Once I was accepted to Hamilton College, my first choice school, I was informed that the average SAT score of the incoming freshman class was around 1330, my combined score. I doubt I will ever know if I would have been accepted to Hamilton with a 1260, but I know that four years at a school like Hamilton, as well as all of the opportunities that the school has made available to me, are well worth the one hour per week that I spent preparing with Mr. Rosensohn. Sincerely,

Your class, over the course of five weeks, gets you comfortable and prepared for the SAT so you can go in on test day knowing what to expect and confident that you can reach your goal score. Each week, a different part of the test is dissected and you do practice problems and learn how to attack which problems when. In addition to learning the test itself, test taking strategies are examined carefully so you know how you’ll tackle the test to get the results you want on that test day. Each week questions are answered in class from homework, and you do sample practice problems right from the Official College Board Book that comes with the course. Each week there is homework so you can practice specific kinds of verbal or math problems on your own, and then eventually you put it all together to do a full released practice test just before the actual Saturday you’re scheduled for. It helped me work on the test efficiently, so I had time to get to every problem, and I had a good idea of how to solve the problems quicker and move through the test at a reasonable pace without making too many careless errors. Vocab is a big part of the critical reading, and the Hot Words for the SAT book, which comes along with a binder full of lessons and strategies to try, is a great way to learn many words fast and in simple clusters. I think I made the most improvement in the Critical Reading passages, because Sam teaches how to read them, that the answers are all there, you just have to read carefully paragraph by paragraph and find the support to pick the right choice, and you’ll do fine. I scored 650 math, 640 reading, and 630 writing my first time around. I am confident that this class, with all the information, insight, and practice you get, will get you better prepared for the test and raise your score.

Our son Patrick attended Sam Rosensohn’s SAT readiness class in Clinton. He found the classes helpful, and we were impressed with the amount of material that was offered. Practice tests were introduced via a controlled environment, similar to the regimen followed on the actual test day, easing some of the stress. Sam also helped Pat write a wonderful essay for his college applications, editing it many times. The result was a short, attention-grabbing essay that was so well written that it surprised us. With only minor customization, it was suitable to be used for every college application that we submitted. Sam is committed to helping kids succeed. He provided counsel regarding career selection, potential college matches, as well as the expected strategy for increasing SAT scores. Although Pat’s scores did not initially reflect his potential, his third attempt reflected the effort that he had expended, as well as the grades that he had received during four years of high school. Despite the additional time commitment, prior to each test session, Sam counseled and pre-tested our son to improve his readiness and confidence. The outcome was very positive. Pat, having selected what is currently one of the most competitive programs for admission, the Doctor of Pharmacy, has received acceptance letters from all of the schools that have thus far responded to his applications. It is such a huge relief and a wonderful feeling to know that our son is on the path to a successful, independent future. We recommend Sam’s program to any high school student seeking college admission. Very truly yours,

He got in! Six schools, six acceptances for a grand slam. It’s funny how the one that they really want is the last to respond. We had already forwarded deposits into Massachusetts School of Pharmacy for this fall. I personally want to thank you for the ongoing efforts provided to us. Your ability to help us create a Patrick story, along with pushing us to start the process early certainly simplified everything while reducing lots of stress. The package that we developed was hard for these schools to turn down. Needless to say Patrick’s hard work also prevailed. This week the arrival of the mailman takes on a different meaning for me. He’s back- just delivering bills. He no longer carries the letter that would impact my son’s dreams. It’s been a nice, special spring for me. Regards,

Patrick will attend the Doctor of Pharmacy program at Northeastern, his first choice. After his early action application to Northeastern was deferred we created a full-scale strategy to win acceptance. My senior son’s grades were less than stellar so we were relying heavily on his SAT scores to get him into the schools of his choice. His first scores were respectable but his school counselor recommended SAT tutoring to pick his scores up a bit and give him stronger positioning in the admission’s pool. I asked him for a recommendation and he told me the “only one” he would recommend was College Planning Partnerships. When I called to schedule tutoring, Sam Rosensohn immediately accommodated us and a series of private sessions began. Sam and partner taught my son how to attack the SAT monster and gave him the skills and strategies needed for the upcoming exam. The 80 points added to his math score and the 40 points added to his verbal score were enough to put him in a very comfortable zone and he did indeed gain acceptance into the college of his choice. As a parent, I found Sam very caring and concerned for my child’s welfare. It was a pleasant experience. Sincerely,

Andrew, a student at the Hopkins School in New Haven, went from 570 to 650 on the math, and from 650 to 690 on the verbal portion of the exam.

I got a 2350 overall, with a 750 in math and 800 in the critical reading and 800 on the writing section, and used the same strategies to get a 750 on the literature SAT II. As a result, I got into the honors programs at schools where I was just hoping to get accepted. I feel I could not have done it without your help and the help of the College Planning Partnerships’ staff, and highly recommend your class.

Thank you for all of your efforts in helping my daughter to raise her SAT scores. The total point increase of 590 was delightful. She was originally reluctant to take on the additional commitment of SAT prep instruction. After her first contact with your staff she requested additional learning up until the day of her test. The individual classes that she received were perfect for her busy schedule; however, in hindsight I feel she could have equally benefited from the classroom setting prep classes that you offer. We appreciate you assistance in relieving a great deal of pre-college anxiety.
